If he shook hands with Chuck Bednarik theyd be tangled for life.

Anyways this happens alot more often than people think. Finger dislocations/Breaks are the norm for Wide Receivers , on the pro level its so common most people dont even discuss it.

Funny someone mentioned Antonio Freeman. Brett Favre is known for pissing his WRs off ((not really pissed but wtf Brett!!)) he never takes anything off the ball and would routinely break fingers in camp and practice. I photographer I used to work for did work with Derrick Mayes and his wife. He once he recounted a story that in one camp Packers vets had run a pool to see how many rookie fingers Favre would injure, by 2nd week of pre season they had topped 20 and stopped counting. He held up his hands and OUCH looked alot like Torrys but with more swollen knuckles.

Anyways Tim Greens book "dark side of the game" he has a tid bit on why you never shake an NFL players hands during the season. He says most linemans hands get so swollen they cant take there wedding rings off till after the season.

Gregg Lloyd commented on his comeback after an injury what he missed most. Being the sick bastard that he is one of the things he mentioned was missing his hands being so swollen/sore after a game he could barely make a fist.
Best reason to have a license.

I thought it was because his QB in St. Louis was either injured or on the ground. I guess the finger has caused him to drop passes and shit.

Damn you'd think that'd have an adverse effect on his receiving abilities.

Yes to the former, no to the latter. Sprinkle in some age and bad knees, and the days of 100 - 1,300 - 10 are long gone.

Torry Holt drops nothing, and will be a prductive possession guy for another 5 years.
