    Here we go again.
I'm serious, the drug dealers in Flint and in and around Detroit must have a say so in the teams performance, this is ridiculous.

Smith had an alright season, but to almost get 1000 yards isn't hard at all, 80 something yards a game?
I hope he has a monster season, 1450+ yards, but i really don't see us making the playoffs,

i've said that i see us going 4-12 or 6-10, yeah if we make the playoffs, it'll be the beginning the end of the world.

    RIP West

1000 yards in a season is about 60 yards a game. Hardly that impressive. For a rookie, it is a nice accomplishment, but he shouldnt be running his mouth quite yet.

If the Lions win more than 3 games this year I'll be suprized.
      RIP HK, JJ

lol @ people hating on Smith for being confident and positive.

Why play the game if you don't think you have a shot at winning? These guys are busting their asses like all the other guys around the league, they obviously aren't as talented, but no reason to knock a guy for believing in his team.

Oh is it? i thought it was around 80 and i didn't feel like figuring it out.

And i agree that he shouldn't be running his mouth, but someone has to light a fire under these guys, and i guess even though this would be a little one, it might get some of the players believing that they can actually win...

Like i said, 4-12 to 6-10. in that range is what's gonna happen.

Well Smith didn't start the first 8 games of the season and getting near 1000 without starting for half the season with an O-Line like the Lions have while being a rookie is pretty impressive.

Gee, this is giving me deja vu...wasn't there another Lions player recently that said we'd win at least 10 games...2 years in a row? Although it would be amazing if we made it, I'm not getting my hopes up (stopped doing that years and years ago). Not to mention we have the toughest schedule in our division (least according to last year's records). I do predict a 7-9 record though.

it doesnt show leadership skills at all, in fact it shows ignorance and arrogance, two things that can kill a football team. it is nice to see him be optomistic though, but i am sure teh coaches would like him to focus that energy in other ways than running his yap.
Exactly. Worry about the cause, and the effect will take care of itself. Tell me the team is working harder than ever to improve and dominate the competition. Tell me you're molding together as a unit and it's positively effecting the work outs. Don't tell me you're making the playoffs.. because you have no control over that whatsoever.

It's ok to shoot for the playoffs, as long as you're working towards that goal. Just saying it won't make teams respect you. You wrote the check Kevin, you better work harder than ever this season to cash it.

he should be fucking executed .
"From the time he hits the court, he plays at a competitive level that you rarely see," Popovich says. "He does the exact same things that Kobe (Bryant) does, that Michael Jordan did.

just waiting for the day when a player comes out and says "shit we will be lucky to win a game this year let alone be competitive". just to see people trash him for not giving a shit or saying something positive.

Then if that wasn't enough, I come upstairs and look into his computer room and see on his desktop a wallpaper with 6 SuperBowl Trophies on it and a big Steelers logo behind it...bleh. Still better than the Cowboys or Patriots though.

it's because half the fans in the NFL have never even played on an organized sports team.

and if they did play on a team but are talking trash about Smith then they must have been really shitty teammates.

who wouldn't want a guy like that on their team?

it would be a different story if Smith sucked or was still a rookie, but he showed a lot of by ending the season very strong last year. he's got major potential. and you can never have too many leaders on one team.
