    Anyone Else Feel Like this?

That college football is 99 times better then the pros. I just don't feel the same when I watch the NFL as I do College. College is 99 times more exciting.

I can't really get into College Football. I'll watch it, but when I am I keep thinking, "I'd rather be watching the NFL".

NFL has better athletes, I don't know how you can possibly think College ball is better.

          College Basketball > NBA though.

YES. College has more atmosphere and it has better rivalries. I also like high school football better than NFL really(thats the only southern thing about me). NFL is just to plain, sure they have better athletes but that doesnt make it more interesting to watch.

Football is a sport where the quality of the football being played is more drastically different at each level then say basketball for example. The game plays out much better the higher the level is. When I go to my high school's football games the quality of the game is weak to the point where I can barely pay attention. College, while much better than HS, still isn't at the level that the pros is at (obviously, but you get the point).

In a sport like basketball, whether it's HS, college, or pros, everyone is more than capable of shooting the ball, passing, etc. The game doesn't get as much complex as you go up a level as it does with football. The fact that a player is able to go straight from high school to the pros and succeed right away supports this.

                Thus, NFL > College Football.

..that was hard as fuck to explain

I like college because it is so diverse. One game you'll see a spread, the next is the option, the next doesn't even have a name. The NFL is all the same basic plays.

College overtime kills NFL. No arguement needed there.

Also, I think having better athletes makes the NFL worse off. I love watching a great college player CARVE an opposing defense because they're just not skilled enough to keep up. It's fun to watch. Remember seeing the guy in my avatar in the pros? A guy like him comes once in a blue moon at that level, but happens almost every time a great school plays a bad one in college.

The players have 100% incentive to do their best. They want to get their name out there, they aren't getting paid, and it's not always a career path for them, so the only reason they're even out there is for the love of the game. Sometimes I wonder if NFL teams/players *coughLionscough* really care about playing at all.

Somebody mentioned intensity, have you seen an Ohio State/Michigan game in recent years? How about Texas/Oklahoma? Rivalries in the NFL are ok, but they're usually always one-sided.

Finally, I can honestly say I've yet to see a boring college football game, up until Florida/LSU last week. Shit, Auburn/WVU is on right now and it's a great game.

                  College > NFL. Rolltide.

I disagree. College OT doesn't include kickoffs which a big part of the game. The one team can possibly not get a go at it at all point is moot when statistics show starting with the ball really isn't as much of an advantage as one might think. In fact it can be a disadvantage when field position is concerned.

It's not so much getting a chance with the ball as it is excitement. One team scores, now you HAVE to score or it's done. I feel like it's just that much more dramatic and intense in college, not to say the NFL is not. College is just more. Not to mention it's like a mini-game. It's just more fun.

the same reason you love it is the same reason i hate it. College can be too sloppy to watch.

Matter of opinion. Agree to disagree.

To say all those players are out there only for the love of the game is ridiculous. No matter what you or they say, it's in the back of their mind that if they play well enough they can make money from it. And to say Pros don't love the game is crazy as well. Football is a 24/7, year round job. They wouldn't be able to make it through that without a love for the game.

I'll give you this one too, although I did say the players have 100% incentive to play great football, so playing well to make money later is incentive. Pros get guaranteed money, so what's their incentive? A great example is WRs not blocking down field, or DEs not running the play down from the backside. Just the little things that most people don't normally care about I notice.

Rivalries have gone out the window a bit over the last few years. Part of that has been the NFL's attempt to clean up it's image with the hard stance on taunting and tougher penalties on illegal contact. However that's to be expected considering the rise of injuries over the last few years. Still though, there are some games in the NFL that produce on-field intensity that no college game can match. Pittsburgh vs Jacksonville is a prime example. Most of the college intensity is by the fans and not the players as it is. If you had 100,000+ players at a NFL game, it'd be the same if not more.

Some of the best football games I've ever seen were at the college level. Last second heroics, upsets, comebacks, slugfests and shootouts, college football has it all, sometimes on a weekly basis. Look at last week for example; Kentucky and Buffalo both had insane rallies in the final seconds to beat Arkansas and Army respectively; TCU, Maryland, Virginia, Boston College and Arizona were all unranked and knocked out a ranked opponent, the highest being #9 BYU; Florida A&M and Southern University combined for 101 points in a 52-49 final, and don't even get me started on Tulsa/UTEP last week; Rutgers and Connecticut didn't score a touchdown until the final quarter, in a 12-10 drag-em-out dog fight.

So whatever your definition of "intensity" is, college has it every single week. And you can't tell me Texas/Oklahoma a few weeks ago wasn't an intense game, unless you didn't watch it.

Probably because other than the top 25 you don't watch many games. Outside of the ranked teams, the games can be pretty dull and irritating. The lack of parity and any sort of a decent post season hurt college football. It'll never be close until college adopts a post season.

The lack of parity is a tough arguement. Obviously the worst and the best team are light-years apart, but watching #1USC lose to Oregon State can pretty much negate the fact that certain teams over-power others. The playoffs are great, but the BCS basically makes every regular season game a playoff game. You really can't afford to lose if you want to play for a National Championship.

How can anyone here even think NFL is on the same level as College Football.

Granted the NFL is the best of the best of College Football players but look at the drama in the NFL. "OMG! I'm not getting the ball enough" "OMG! I'm unhappy with my contract!"

Give me a break. I would rather watch West Virginia lose every game in their season than watch The Jaguars win the Super Bowl. Call me a liar, I know one of you smart ass posters will just to get a few thanks which is pretty shitty, but most NFL players play with no passion. They just go out there to get their paycheck.

When it comes down to college players they are playing because its what they love to do until they become prima donnas in the NFL and want contracts.

You are picking out what some players act like and have them represent the whole NFL. Not every single player is like T.O., Chad Johnson, Moss, etc.. Not to mention you don't know what ever player plays for. If you think some of those college kids don't have, "if i play good i will get to the NFL and make boat loads of money" in the back of their minds you're retarded.

In the end its a matter of opinion. I perfer NFL, you perfer College.
