No shit. Who else would be according to?
The fight may have been good. I didn't watch. The problem with boxing is that the guys don't care about challenging themselves and fighting the best out there anymore. They all want to fight a bunch of cans to build up their records, then take big money fights. That coupled with there not being that many elite boxers anymore makes the sport intriguing to me.So, metaphorically speaking, our physiology basically has the universe mapped out and you're thinking it needs to be taught addition & subtraction.

I enjoy MMA as a whole, the UFC is part of that but not all. Saying "ufc guys" is fucking retarded. So, metaphorically speaking, our physiology basically has the universe mapped out and you're thinking it needs to be taught addition & subtraction.

Boxing v. MMA comes down to three things for me personally:
1. MMA answers the question boxing originally set out to answer: who would win if person X fights person Y? Boxing's rules limit the sport so much that MMA does a vastly superior job of answering that basic question.
2. Variety of fighting styles. What happens when a top 5 worldwide Jiu-Jitsu practitioner fights a top 5 worldwide kickboxer/wrestler/judo fighter? Boxing won't tell you the answer, MMA will...
3. Boxing hasn't found a way to produce a card with more than one fight that anyone cares about. Buy a UFC event, you get 5-7 fights and the occasional card (see UFC 100) with 3-5 great matchups with big names. Much better value for your PPV dollar... That is, unless you choose to save money by buying all the interesting boxing PPVs (1-3 each year) rather than all the interesting MMA PPVs (8-12 each year).
The problem is ... there are exciting young fighters on the undercards of boxing ppvs but they are pitted against bums which ruins it for me at timesLast edited by Archer; 06-18-2009, 07:34 PM.Comment

I love when people have such a strong opinion about something they don’t follow or watch, unbelievable
HW boxing would probably only qualify as 'sucking' right now, the lower weights are unreal and putting on great fights
The worst part about these debates is the uneducated opinion from both sides about each others sportsLiquidrob's Top 10 Fighters Rankings

You don’t even watch the big time fights and you still make comments on boxing, sounds about right, boxing has been putting on great fights on the last year or 2 after slipping for a brief period

like I said earlier, the thing that hurts boxing for the average fan is trying to follow it, if you dont have HBO/Showtime or buy PPVs you are not going to keep up
MMA is easy to follow, Spike, Versus, HDNet, Showtime, etc...you can always catch something, boxing requires work to follow, its not not as accesible as once before and they are losing there casual fan base
I remember watching big time fights on ABC, etc...like Dell was saying, but we are old, lol
HBO production is amazing, the 24/7 series is great, the UFC has tried to copy it, but they just dont have the feel of it and cant recreate what HBO does with it, comes off 2nd rate for the most partLiquidrob's Top 10 Fighters Rankings
