Larry Merchant looks like he's being held up by strings. I think he died like 5 years ago, and they have Emmanuel Stewart do his best Andrew McCarthy and prop him up like "Bernie".

Lampley is so smug, and always takes shots at MMA, for no apparent reason other than to amuse himself. Funny, you never hear Joe Rogan or Mauro Ranallo or Bas Rutten rip on boxing. Lampley is as insecure as they come.

The worst part, is they always feed Merchant these forced sounding lines cracking on MMA, when in reality, he tells people off the record that he respects it.

Meanwhile, Lampley is busy beating up his girlfriend in front of his young son. The guy is just an all round douchebag (good word, RS).

I was mostly talking about the 24/7 series which blows away anything the UFC or any other MMA org has done or tried to copy, even on fight night at least boxing comes across like a sport where the commentators will rip the fights, the boxers, etc...if they see something thats not right

UFC is so controlled and have professional shills, I dont really mind Goldie and like Joe, but Goldie comes across like a n00b and says shit like 'you know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Forrest Griffin!' lol and many other crazy lines, Rogan is always screaming and calling everybody world class while yelling rubber guard to promote his friends gym, comes across more like WWE show than a sporting event

Also on that point, the UFC operates in a bubble, they cant really talk about the history of the sport if some fighters didnt sign or play ball with them, they threw out major parts of MMA history or they cant talk about other current fighters that are not in the UFC and it lessens the sport as a whole, for a sport that is so young to just disregard certain parts of its history is lame, I know why they do it, but it doesnt make it right

The shit Lampley and Merchant say about MMA is uneducated and wrong, but at least they say how they feel about the fights and dont tell you every fight is the greatest fight in history

Mike Goldberg is becoming increasingly annoying with his random nonsense. But he's tied to the product at this point, it would be weird without him.

Rogan is the king of hyperbole.

"He has some of the best hands in the sport" (James Irvin)
"This is the biggest fight in UFC history" (Penn/St. Pierre)

My favorite Rogan line, was before one of the Tito/Ken fights:

"This is the best Ken Shamrock we've ever seen"

        C'mon, Joe.

I think he just tends to get too excited. I can't knock his enthusiasm.

I like Joe, he is good for the sport and knows the ground game which is great, but this is one of the reasons that the UFC never made a network deal or HBO deal, they didnt want to give up control of the commentary, etc...right now they just have pro UFC shills

It’s not covered like a legitimate sport at this point, my memory is foggy, but what did they even say about Randy when he was trying to leave? ‘Hey, umm, Big Tim and Nog are now fighting for the title!’, correct me if I'm wrong, but it was pretty much brushed under the rug and they barely ever mentioned it

They don’t address really anything that isn’t pro UFC, so it’s more of an event than a sport at this point until it gets covered without all this bias, like I said, I understand why they do this, but doesn’t make it right and it takes away from the sports credibility IMO

They talk about shit outside the UFC all the time. They even talk about Fedor on the UFC video game.

I know the names. It's not a big fight. Cotto/PacMan is a decent fight, it will draw huge numbers because of Pacman. Too be honest, not caring for a sport is the perfect reason to bash it.

Also, Lampley is a tool, but he knows more about boxing and the history of the sport than Goldie, Gus Johnson and Kenny Rice combined, he knows his sport and thats nice to have from a commentator

Pacman is going to destroy Cotto. Not really a big fight IMO. There are only two big fights for Pacman at this point.

and you know this because you follow the sport so closely? or by not watching Cotto's last fight?

you are posting about something you already said you dont have any interest in, dont even watch and you think 'sucks', so why are you even making posts like this?

doesnt even matter if you are right or wrong at this point, you have zero credibility in this thread, but please, proceed...
