here is a little HL of the Cotto/Clottley fight, of course its bais for Clottley, but pretty much what some of us were seeing, great defense and accurate punching from Clottey, 30 seconds in than the Clottey/Cotto HLs start

Says he wants Vitali in September since Wlad has to fight his mandatory bout

      Lol Haye needs to shutup

anyway. Loved the Klitschko fight, the man is clearly the best heavyweight of his era, I know some will point to Vitali, but Wlad and Manny together can't be stopped by anyone, there isn't anyone other than Vitali who would stand a chance with Wlad.

damn, i would have loved to have saw this fight..... Pascal is aggressive, i saw him fight Froch at 168...... i am surprised he beat Diaconu....... i am gonna see if this fight is online.... should have been a good one....

this vid kinda summs of the fight, minus the knockdown, the 6th round and the last two rounds........Clottey moving forward using his defense to stop Cotto punches, and throwing with some great accuracy...... I hope Clottey gets a chance against Berto or Mosley for a title.... but i doubt it.....

After junior welterweight Timothy Bradley Jr. outpointed Kendall Holt to unify 140-pound titles on April 4, he was forced to vacate one of the belts because of arcane boxing politics. Now, that vacancy will be filled when St. Louis' Devon Alexander meets former titleholder Junior Witter of England on Aug. 1 (Showtime) at the Agua Caliente Casino Resort Spa in Rancho Mirage, Calif.

Ironically, the bout will serve as the Showtime-televised opener to the main event featuring Bradley (24-0, 11 KOs) defending the belt he kept against former unified lightweight titlist Nate Campbell (33-5-1, 25 KOs).

In another twist, Witter lost his title to Bradley in May 2008.

Alexander (18-0, 11 KOs), one of boxing's elite prospects for the past few years, was elated to finally have the fight set.

"I just found out a few days ago that I'll be in my first world championship match against Junior Witter on Aug. 1. I am so thrilled to be fighting for a world title and against Witter, a fighter I respect," Alexander, 22, said. "He's already had the title we're fighting for, and I feel like it's my turn now. I'm not stopping my undefeated run for anyone. I'll never have a chance at the biggest fights in the world against Floyd Mayweather or Manny Pacquiao unless I win this."

Trainer and manager Kevin Cunningham, who also works with St. Louis junior middleweight titleholder Cory Spinks, said the title fight is what Alexander has worked his whole life for.

"This is a terrific opportunity for Devon," Cunningham said. "He's been preparing for this moment since he was 8 years old when I heard him say he wanted to fight for the 'green belt' of the WBC. Now he's the mandatory challenger. We look forward to bringing home another world championship to the American Gateway City of St. Louis."

While Witter has loads of experience against top-flight opponents, the fight is a big step up for Alexander, but promoter Don King is confident in him.

"I saw something special in Devon from the beginning," said King, who has promoted Alexander for his entire pro career, even though there were some difficult times between the two because Alexander was rarely a priority. "He doesn't drink, smoke or take drugs. He takes care of his body. His smile lights up a room. He's also a great role model for young people. I can't say enough good things about this talented young man.

"Now he has received an opportunity in the land of opportunity and he plans to make the most of it. Those in attendance at Agua Caliente and watching across America on Showtime are going to see a very special young fighter win his first world title."

Witter (37-2-2, 22 KOs), 35, won a vacant title in September 2006 against former titlist DeMarcus "Chop Chop" Corley and defended it twice before Bradley came to England and beat him last year. Witter bounced back with a third-round knockout of Victor Hugo Castro in November.

The fight will be Witter's second in the United States. He outpointed Lovemore N'Dou in a 2005 title elimination bout in Los Angeles.

if Alexander gets by Witter (which is a big if) Alexander Bradley should be a great fight.....

sidenote: i am assuming Bradley can outpoint a very tough Nate Campbell..

LOL its funny how people are knocking Ruslan, seriously what can he do, he had no chance, I don't think it has anything to do with what he wasn't able to do as much as it is just flat out that you can't get inside someone while taking those straights to the face all night.

David Haye cracks me up, I hope to hell he makes a fight with Wlad and not Vitali, because I want to see Wlad shut his mouth.

I was just stating with his previous wins I'd expect him to perform better against a taller fighter. Either better head movement or take a shot to try and get inside. I did make the point that Wlad was too good for him on the night.

Ruslan's head movement was average to below average... while Klitsch was simply too good for him on that night i thought he could have made it more of a fight....

I think Cotto has definitely been on the fortunate side of some questionable decisions. I still think Mosley edged him out and now Clottey as well. If it wasn't for that we'd probably be talking about PacMan vs Mosley right now, which I hope still happens anyway.

Also interested in watching Victor Ortiz, Golden Boy has been putting a lot on him as of late, so it's time to see if he lives up to the hype.

Just watched the Carl Froch/Taylor fight yesterday, didnt get to see it the first time because udring my move I didnt have HBO or Showtime

I knew Froch won, but Taylor had that fight IMO, he looked pretty sharp early as usual, Taylor was so much quicker, but if that fights goes to a decision Froch would have lost, Froch is a tough bastard, he took some great shots and still had some left in the tank for the later rounds

I felt bad for Taylor, he just couldnt believe it, what an amazing fight, dont see many 12th round KO's like that

Abraham just destroyed this guy Oral.... the guy had ZERO, and i mean ZERO power..... i would like to see Arthur against a top flight middle or super middleweight....... Abraham clearly has power, i am curious to see what he would do in a fight though... i saw his fights against Miranda..... but still not convinced...

Arthur Abraham is a nice fighter, I think he could take Pavlik.

Abraham destoyed that dude, he has some great power, but still has some defensive issues wheh he starts throwing, dropping his hands, of balanace, etc...I think a higher level fighter would be able to out point him, just like the commentators said, but it is easier said than done

Pavlik or Froch would be a good fight against Abraham

Man, Ortiz looked good, but seems like he just doesnt have the mindset to be a champ, I felt bad for him after, you just dont say stuff like that, he just couldnt handle the pressure, the kid is good, but you need that mindset to be an elite fighter and it doesnt look like he has it yet, hopefully he can comeback from this, he has skills but shouldnt be getting into brawls like that

Maidana just kept throwing and wouldnt break, that was the difference, great fight though, never a dull moment
