    Wimbledon 2009

Of course the tournament rarely gets interesting until week 2 but for what it's worth Federer opens proceedings tomorrow on centre court. Federer is the top seed as the world #1 and defending champion Rafael Nadal has withdrawn due to injury.

Federer has a chance to reclaim the Wimbledon title once more and at the same time become the most successful tennis player of all-time. If he wins it he will surpass Pete Sampras with his 15th Grand Slam title.

    ...

But fuck all of that shit. I'm Scottish so my allegiance is with Andy Murray. Murray has a genuine chance of winning it this year as the #2 seed, he recently won the Wimbledon warmup tournament (Queens) his record against Federer is immense and he will of course have the backing of the Wimbledon crowd. I am thoroughly hoping for a Federer-Murray final.

Who else is going to be watching?

I always watch, as these tourny's are on when I normally watch sportscentre. So normally while I work all day I leave the TV on in the background.

Murray just got a gift handed to him with Nadal out. Makes his draw so much more easier and he can probably get closer to the finals. I full well expect Federer to be in the finals as normal.
All you need to know when thinking of the NHL vs Madden series is the two people involved in making the games.

    "rammer" and "cummings"

The NHL series is a giver, Madden takes the load.

Roof on Court 1 is closed for the first time at the tournament. Takes about 10 minutes to close it and a further 25 or so to regulate the climate apparently.

Federer was only outworked by Nadal last year anyway. He's the best thing men's tennis has to offer.

                              Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.

Roddick played brilliant though, superb at the net and unflinching in the tiebreaker. Well played.
