I get that, but to call Rogers a pussy when it's really not his decision yet is silly.

If I were Coker, Affliction would have to meet unrealistic demands to get Rogers. They need Rogers for their own show in a few weeks.

Besides, Rogers means less than zero for business. Affliction is better off with a big name can. Tank would sell tickets in Cali, and draw a few curiosity buys.

--On the Affliction deal, it appear to be down to either Vitor Belfort or Brett Rogers as Fedor Emelianenko's opponent for 8/1. Emelianenko's people sent out a press release stating that a poll on Sherdog showed people greatly preferred Rogers, and thus, so did they. Man, if UFC used Sherdog to decide their matchmaking, they'd have been out of business years ago. A lot of fighters are trying to get their names in, largely for the $500,000 payday, including Tank Abbott and Don Frye. Affliction canceled its press conference today. Even though Belfort turned down facing Gegard Mousasi originally on 8/1, and Rogers has no interest in facing Fabricio Werdum on 8/15, it is the payday that, particularly for Rogers, is life changing (it would be six times more than he's made for fighting in his entire career) that is the key. Rogers has not had a camp so would be going in cold. Belfort has been training hard, and said he would fight at 215 without having to cut. What it seems to come down to is whether or not Strikeforce will give approval to the fight. Rogers is obviously really wanting it bad. At of an hour ago, Scott Coker had not made a decision either way. We're told Affliction is planning on making the announcement tomorrow.

I think Larry was the only one to call Brett a pussy, he is trolling though

No one really will sell more tickets at this point, not Tank or Ken, maybe Tito but it wouldnt be worth it with no pre fight hype

I called him a pussy but im just overhyping things at this point. I said he should face Jose Canseco for fucks sake..

I understand the business behind it.. im sure Brett would take the fight on finances alone if it was his decision.. alone.

Belfort’s head trainer, Shawn Tompkins, said he was shocked to wake up Thursday morning without a clear-cut decision.

“The latest word is that both camps agreed. Affliction wants the fight, but there’s somebody higher up, whether it be with the pay-per-view programming or what not, that’s saying that they’re holding on to see,” said Tompkins on Thursday. “I think it’s a weight discrepancy. I think they want to see a heavyweight rather than Vitor.”

Sources told Sherdog.com Thursday evening the list had dwindled down to six candidates, including Belfort, Jeff Monson, Paul Buentello, Brett Rogers, Muhammed Lawal and Bobby Lashley.

“It’s just a matter of sitting down with everybody involved: Showtime, our partners M-1 Global, everybody, and just saying, ‘Look this is what we’re gonna do. How does everybody feel about it? Let’s take a vote and finalize it,’” Atencio told host Gabriel Morency.
