Josh is not a big draw in the US, this was all about Fedor and for the hardcore Fans a Fedor/Josh fight

This was probably there last show, so they should have just got Monson or someone and went with it

Thats just my opinion, I dont think Josh really gets the casual fan pumped, I guess some of the word is that Golden Boy and Showtime backed out of some of the money once Josh got popped (dont know how true that is), so maybe they couldnt even pull it off if they tired

I really dont think the buys would've been terribly effected. Fedor is the draw. Barnett is a decent draw too but Fedor was the money maker there. Obviously any time something like this happens you're probably not going to get as many buys.. but filling in with any decent name would've still down a similar amount of buys.

Barnett is a lot more recognizable to the casual fan than Jeff Monson is. Either way tho this PPV event was about selling to the hardcore fans, casual fans was not going to make up a large percentage of Affliction's buys no matter who Fedor was fighting.

Lets see some good come from this, Santiago is a Strikeforce fighter, put the Vitor fight on the 15th or Babalu is the Strikeforce champ, put him and Mousasi on the card also Paul and Yvel, Paul always fights for Strikeforce

Either 1 of those fights will help the Strikeforce card with Overeem and Riggs out, plus its free on Showtime

Later on Friday, Affliction opted to get out of the promoting business and, in a joint statement with the Ultimate Fighting Championship, announced it would become a sponsor of the UFC. The fate of the fighters under contract with Affliction is not known yet.
