    Tito Back To The UFC?

Guess who’s back? Dana White welcomes Tito Ortiz back to the UFC

couple days old, but i dont think it was really touched upon here..

Affliction Trilogy canceled; Affliction shuts down as a fight promotion and becomes official sponsor for UFC; and now……

It’s looking as if former UFC champion Tito Ortiz could be on the verge of a return to the Octagon.

“The Huntington Beach Bad Boy” has recently been welcomed back to the UFC with open arms by former friend and enemy, Dana White.

The UFC president had this to say earlier via his Twitter account, “I am going on espn 1100 in vegas at 6pm. I will be talking anything mma. Call in number is 702 364 1100! Oh yea and welcome back tito ”.

While no official word is out about the signing of Ortiz, obviously the word will be coming down shortly

Ortiz has fought 21 of his career 22 bouts in the Octagon.

UPDATE: The UFC President backed off his Tito Tweet a little on the radio show. He said bringing Ortiz back was a “possibility”. Dana also mentioned the former UFC light heavyweight champion’s back issue, but expressed that he felt Tito could still compete.

Good for Tito. Glad to see he's back.

He's a bigger draw than anyone they have, besides Lesnar or GSP.

Lesnar/Tito would be beyond huge, but Tito is too smart to take that fight.

Tito/Kimbo on the TUF 10 final (assuming Kimbo dosent make the finals, which isnt exactly going out on much of a limb) would smash the UFC ratings record.

And aside from the freakshow shit, he's been gona a while, there are a few fresh fights for him.

I am interested to see him fight again. Never thought I'd say that. But for the last couple years/fights he has had severe back problems. Apparently those are all taken care of and he should have some power back. As much as I hate him, he probably should have beat Rashad and came damn close against Machida

What I want to know is why people think he's still relevant, or care enough about this dude to see him fight. He hasn't been an exciting fighter in a while and is past his prime. His huge mouth (and ego) has been keeping him in the spotlight - I'm hoping people stop giving a shit.
tito's a showman, and a great one at that. its hard to say hes past his prime just yet. like CB said he hung in there with the current and former LHW champs Machida and Rashad. gotta see how he looks after the back surgery and long layoff.

They need to do Tito vs Forest so he can get his win back

Also like the idea of Tito vs Franklin at 205.

Maybe Tito vs Wandy for my own personal injoy ment.

There are still fights to be made with Tito.

id stick him on Tuf, he seems to be a hell of a coach.

Do back problems ever really go away ?
Hes a wrestler/gnper not some stand up guy. Not sure if hes ever going to be as powerful or explosive as he used to be.

Well, Tito beat Rashad but is the only man to ever get a point taken away for grabbing the cage, Chuck made a career out of it, plus he had Machida flopping like fish in a triangle

I think Tito is still a very relevent LHW plus he makes people a lot of money

Tito is now officially back in the UFC. Belfort and Tito in the same day. some quotes from Tito on his return...

"Strikeforce has no challenges, If I fought Frank Shamrock again it would be the first death in MMA history"

"I'm running, working with Freddie Roach and will fight in UFC before the year is over."

"With new UFC deal, You'll never hear me complain about money again."

"Time cures everything. Dana apologized to me....It was about competition...financially I'm ok...Dana stuck by his word."

"If I fought in Strikeforce, who would I fight? I have no more pain in my legs, no more numbness. It's about competition."

"If I dominate light heavyweight, I might move up to heavy to fight Brock Lesnar"

Lol @ Tito's optimism. Hes always good for some pre-fight hype and is still a dangerous fighter.. but hes lost the stigma he once had..

His last two fights before leaving the UFC were taking Machida the distance and a fluke Draw against Evans because Tito grabbed the fence.

Tito isn't what he used to be by any stretch, but he can still go with the best of the best.
