Fedor vs Rogers will be the PPV if they both dont lose in the next fight or 2
As much as Fedor and Affliction didnt go so well, there numbers for PPVs were not that bad with no TV deal and lack of Advertising
Showtime, CBS, etc...will bump those numbers up, they will not do UFC numbers, but they will still be decent, there is money to be made, 1 or 2 fights on Showtime and CBS than go for a PPV
Fedor has gone from 10k, 60k to 100k twice in PPV buys just with his name, he has a followingLast edited by Liquidrob; 08-03-2009, 01:39 PM.Liquidrob's Top 10 Fighters Rankings

No way I put him in with Rogers yet. That's the biggest (and only) potential money fight they have right now.
Expose Fedor vs the Werdums and Buentellos of the world, the get him the belt, then pray neither he or Rogers lose, and you have your first non UFC profit making MMA ppv fight.
Rogers has his marquee win vs. Arlovski, i'd book him very carefully at this point.
Of course, Fedor will probably get KTFO in his first fight, and non of this will matter anyway.
Fedor vs Rogers and Fedor vs Lashley could be money on PPV, also maybe Gracie if he strings some wins and just having the Gracie name helpsLiquidrob's Top 10 Fighters Rankings

Old Dana White quote, kind of funny
Interviewer: What big names do you want to bring back to the UFC?
Dana White: (Smiling) I've talked to a lot of them already. I'd love to see Mark Kerr back. I'd love to see Coleman back, Frank Shamrock, Ken Shamrock if he's interested in fighting still.
Interviewer: Those are definitely some names...
Dana White: (Smiling really big) ...And my main goal, the main guy I want to get together with. Even if I have to co-promote with PRIDE, and we don't have a problem with co-promoting, they do it in boxing... is SakurabaLiquidrob's Top 10 Fighters Rankings

Im confused. Why would the Lesnar Fedor fight be pushed right away. Yet a Fedor/Rogers fight be built up ?Best reason to have a license.

I would have prefered Fedor/Randy first instead of Fedor/Brock, but I see the logic behind itLiquidrob's Top 10 Fighters Rankings

Im lookin forward to seeing a Fedor fight sometime soon, all i see is his highlights on youtube. I was hoping he would get on UFC so it would be easier but i can handle this too.
I also wouldve like to see Brock fight someone that could match up with him. Cain is the only guy i see in the UFC that maybe could take him, just because of his strong wrestling and he proved he could take a punch against Kongo.Comment

I would have preferred to see Fedor get a deal done with the UFC. However, I don't blame Dana White for not wanting to co-promote. Especially since it is such a broad term. It could mean a number of things and can include giving M-1 some decision making power. If it were just banners and logos on shorts, I don't see what the problem would be. That's why I tend to think M-1 has a different definition of "co-promoting" than what Dana had in mind.
Either way, I am excited to see Fedor stay in the US and fight with Strikeforce. Especially since some of the fights will be on Showtime. I would have guessed that his first fight may have been against Rogers or Overeem, but, some of the points made earlier hold a lot of merit. I could see Fedor getting a few warm-ups to pad his record and hype a fight with Rogers or Overeem in the future.Maddon & Friedman: Pissing off the AL East since 2008

Rogers has no name, so Fedor/Rogers would bomb termendously if it happened right away. At the same time, he's the only guy Fedor can draw serious money with IMO with the proper build.
It's risky, because Rogers has really done nothing but beat a bunch of stiffs, and KO a punch drunk, weak chinned AA. He can lose to anyone half way decent, and blow the potential fight.
But this is MMA, new fights spring up all the time. Someone off the radar could emerge.Comment
