I have small plans to go down to Columbus in December and watch the Jackets play the leafs. Not sure if that will go through though.

I went to buy bruins tickets and there was a 60% increase or something whack. It was like $100 a seat for balcony at the Garden vs some crap teams. I paid 175$ a seat scalped for game 7 of the playoffs vs hurricanes last year for the same seat. wtf.

That is normally what happens when your team wins the EAST. Better team = higher prices.
All you need to know when thinking of the NHL vs Madden series is the two people involved in making the games.

        "rammer" and "cummings"

The NHL series is a giver, Madden takes the load.

And why I will watch the games in HD and not pay over $100 to see a fn hockey game. I can go watch Springfield, Worcester,Lowell, and Providence each and still not pay as much for 4 games as I would 1 bruins game vs the bluejackets.

Hockey live > Hockey on TV

Nothing beats sitting front row along the boards for when it comes to live sports. Nothing.

I've been to the Grey Cup, CFL Playoffs, NFL Playoffs, MLB reg season, NFL reg season, FIFA qualifiers, MLS reg season, NBA reg season, NHL reg season, AHL playoffs, etc......

All of which I've sat within the front rows at the venues and nothing has ever topped the hockey games I've been to.

U dont even have to sit in the front and its still the best sport to watch live. game 7 was the craziest thing ever. to walk out of the arena in silence was awkward tho.

Preaching the the choir here. Being in Southern Ontario, the two options of Toronto or Detroit would set me back about $200-300 a game easily. And as much as live hockey is amazing, it isn't worth seeing for that much. Though the Wings last year in December and January had $9 tickets because they couldn't get people to come watch the games. Sad when the runners up needed a marketing ploy to get fan support.

I will say, I was a little surprised you said this, only because I pegged you as a hardcore football/baseball person.

But yeah, you just need to look at the last minute of play in each of the last two Stanley Cup final games to see how great hockey is.

If there are any leaf vs blackhawks I'd seriously consider going just for the lulz.

I always try to watch a handful of games or more each year. Two will always be when Habs and Leafs come to town and others just random or whatever others want to go watch.

I might even check out some preseason action this year.
