I heard he got Mr Kennedy too. This show sounds like a trainwreck.

He was never a great worker in the traditional sense, but his stuff from Japan in the early 80's was pretty damn good. He fit the mold of gaijin killer heel to a tee...he was big, and was very fast and aggressive for a guy his size. Some of his AWA stuff was just as good.

Fast forward a mere 3 or 4 years, and he had turned into a big stiff. Part of this was he got lazy, because American crowds are easier (can't really blame him for that, even many guys today work harder in Japan, because they know they have to). But his physical ability also decline pretty rapidly.

Perfect example--dig up some of the old Hogan/Andre matches from Japan circa 1982, 1983. Compare those to the WM3 match roughly 5 years later. You wont even believe you are watching Andre The Giant....he could really move in those days.

But at least Andre has a legitimate excuse for falling off--he was sick, there was no cure in those days, and he was slowly dying before our eyes.
I have to take up for Hogan here. Not that I'm the biggest Hogan fan (I'm a NWA/Flair guy) but I can appreciate what he did in the WWF in the mid to late 80's. He had good matches with David Schultz, Paul Orndorff, and Roddy Piper. You might not have seen a flying head scissors, but he knew how to tell a good story in the ring. Now the 90's onward, was complete and utter shit.
