Here is TSN's UFA tracker, where they show what players went where. Other then player signings, not much else going on other then Winnipeg. All you need to know when thinking of the NHL vs Madden series is the two people involved in making the games.

Explains the additions of Carter and Wiz, and not just from a practical, "we need to fix the power play" standpoint. This is definitely a team that needs to create excitement this year and get into the playoffs. Now the onus is on Mason's shoulders.Comment

They are pretty much at the point right now where if they don't have a season where they at the very minimum break even they are going to seriously consider move unless they can get funding from the new casino's that are coming in.

Ohio is just far enough out of the way that Canadians are not driving there, and to far out of the way that no one else outside of Ohio is going to want to drive.
Interest note made in the The Hockey News. You want to know a good reason why Columbus sucks, just go look at their draft picks in the first round.
2000 - Rostislav Klesla (4th overall) traded to Phoenix in 2011
2001 - Pascal Leclaire (8th overall) traded to Ottaway in 2009
2002 - Rick Nash (1st overall) Still with the team
2003 - Nikolai Zherdev (4th overall) traded to New York in 2008
2004 - Alexandre Picard (8th overall) traded to Phoenix in 2010
2005 - Gilbert Brule (6th overall) traded to Edmonton in 2008 (for Raffi Torres lol)
2006 - Deick Brassard (6th overall) still with the team
2007 - Jakub Voracek (7th overall) traded to Philadelphia in 2011
2008 - Nikita Filatov (6th overall) traded to Ottawa in 2011
2009-11 they still have them all, but most are not with the team. 9 picks all within the top 8 and they have 2 left on the team. Their drafting is just terrible. I always like to do this as a "what they could have had" (penguins could have had Toews instead of Stall). But for this I'll post the player picked right behind them, and name some others.
2000 - Raffi Torres 5th, Orpik 18th, Frolov 20th
2001 - Tuomo Ruutu 9th, Hamhuis 12th, Hemsky 13th, Sharp 95th
2002 - Hard to fuck up #1
2003 - Thomas Vanek 5th, Phaneuf 9th, Jeff Carter 11th, Ryan Getzlaf 19th, Kesler 23rd, Richards 24th, Corey Perry 28th, (they really fucked up this draft)
2004 - Ladislav Smid 9th, this draft wasn't good. Riine went 258 and Mark Streit 262,
2005 - Jack Skile 7th, Setoguchi 8th, Kopitar 11th, M. Staal 12th
2006 - Brassard still with team, but Okposo went after him, Frolik, Little, Grabner, Giroux 22nd
2007 - Zach Hamill 7th, Couture 9th, Sutter 11th,
2008 - Colin Wilson 7th, Baily 9th, Myers 12th, Karlsson 15th, Ennis 26
So yeah, not a lot of amazing talent they are getting, and a lot of amazing talent went by. We all know teams draft a dud here and there. But how many times it happened with the Jackets makes me think it is a scouting issue. All you need to know when thinking of the NHL vs Madden series is the two people involved in making the games.
