The Wilks Barre Pens are second in points in the east. You lose two of your top stars, one who was on pace t score 150+ points and tell me your team would still be first. If anything, should show you how much depth they have.

So other little interesting things to look at standings wise.

Tampa Bay really needs to think more of keeping the puck out of the net. If you look at the top 6 teams and goal differential it goes like this:
Philly +47
Tampa -1
Boston +43
Vancouver +60
Detroit +26
San Jose +15

Toronto despite being 4 points out is -27.

Devils are 9-0-1 in last 10, and 9 points out of a playoff spot. But I think this might be a little to little to late. Don't seem them coming back that much and getting into the post season. If they did would be one of the biggest turn arounds.

And has anyone really looked at the West? 6 teams are at 70 points going from 5th place to 10th place. That conference flops so much. Last time I looked, Minny, Chicago and LA were out and Calgary and Nashville were in. Now they are not. Sprint to the finish.

All it takes is a good 3 game win streak to turn that -1 into +10. If they had Roloson the entire season they'd probably have a better team +/-, they are alright.

He's had pretty consistent stats over the past decade and is a better goalie than anyone that's played for Tampa since Khabilbulin. Mike Smith has been fucking complete trash since the start of the 09/10 season. Dan Ellis was barely any better.

In the end, they are exactly what they were (-1) when he came to Tampa Bay, so certainly not worse. I'd assume better if he had the whole year to be accustomed to how the defence is playing in front of him.

Either way, he's a better option that those two bums.
