Brock Lesnar has been forced to withdraw from his UFC 106 heavyweight title fight on Nov. 21 against Shane Carwin after battling a lengthy illness that kept him from training for over three weeks.

From UFC President Dana White, courtesy of Yahoo Sports:

“He said he’s never been this sick in his life. He said it’s been going on for a long time and he just hasn’t been able to shake it.”

This is devastating news for a card that is less than a month away. What the UFC has in store to replace the original bout has not yet been determined.

Maybe he got a steph infection. The flu shouldnt fuck you up that long. Really shitty news, the UFC has been able to save two other fights on the same card with good replacements (Fitch-Almeida was supposed to be on that card too, no?), lets see if they can save this one too.

Looking now that card is shaping up with some intriguing/entertaining fights. Forrest/Tito, Fitch/Alves, Amir/Baroni, Saunders/Davis, Parisyan/Hazelett, even watching Rosholt fuck up annoying ass Kendall Grove should be good stuff.

Thats what I was trying to say, they saved that fight by finding a good replacement in Alves.

My gambing site has it listed as UFC 106.. cant find it on UFC.com prob cause Fitch-Alves hasnt been announced officially yet.

I suppose Nogueira comes to mind. Maybe even Cain, he didnt take any damage in the Rothwell fight. Or just push the fight back.. Carwin is put in a tough spot, hes got a title shot.. now he risks fighting someone else and losing it if he losses.

Thiago/Fitch is at 107 and yeah with only a month to go till 106 there's no way the fill-in could get in a full training camp. Everyone wants to see Carwin/Lesnar anyway. The upside is that 108 is going to be a must buy event now, but 106 should now be free IMO.

--Kevin Iole just reported that Brock Lesnar is out of UFC 106. Dana White got the word today from Lesnar that he had been suffering from a severe flu for three-and-a-half weeks and hadn't been able to shake it, and at this point decided he didn't have enough time left to get in top shape for the fight. Nothing more has been said but the plan right now is for the fight to take place on Jan. 2 in Las Vegas.
We'll have more as the day goes on.

Might this persuade Anderson to stop being a bitch? Big reason it seems he doesn't want to fight Vitor is because of the numbers. Now if he is on a card with Lesnar, his PPV bonus is going to be much bigger than if he was the headliner
