"He's never in good spirits and he's not in good spirits now," White said.
    That is fucking awesome.

Hopefully now that they know what's up, they can get the best doctors to get him well.

I just take that talk as knowing he's seriously fucked up and not wanting to rush him back

Although I read some stories from people within his camp who said that talk was very premature.

Yeah I'm guessing that is their creative way of letting everyone know that he probably won't fight for a while so people aren't wondering where the hell he is and what's taking him so long to recover.

Minneapolis CBS station reports Lesnar has a severe case of diverticulitis. He may need surgery to remove part of his colon.

                little update on brock...

                link

Brock Lesnar is being treated in an unidentified hospital for a bacterial infection in his intestinal tract, UFC President Dana White told the Associated Press on Monday.

"He's in stable condition and should be released soon," said White.

In late October, the UFC heavyweight champion withdrew from his Nov. 21 title defense against Shane Carwin at UFC 106 in Las Vegas to recover from mononucleosis.

White announced last Saturday that Lesnar’s condition was far worse than had originally been thought. White did not disclose Lesnar’s additional ailments, but said a return for the 31-year-old fighter was not expected in the foreseeable future. White said the promotion was considering an interim title for the division while Lesnar recovered.

When asked if Lesnar would fight again, White told the Associated press that, “It depends on how serious this is.”
so maybe its not as serious as people are making it out to be? who knows...

Me thinks he had been diagnosed already and Dana finally cracked in telling the media, lol. Funny that a few days ago Dana was "respecting Brock's wishes" and not telling people what is wrong, and a few days later hes revealing it to the world. Wonder how Brock feels about that?

If Brock's career is done, then Fedor has absolutely zero motivation to really go to the UFC.

Brock Lesnar = the biggest 'what could have been' in MMA history?

My sister actually has the same "disease", but not a "severe" case I guess. I guess its could be considered a disease (I never looked at it as so serious.. more like a stomach condition) but it does unfortunately causes her some stomach problems but she has never had any problems to the extent of an overnight hospital visit.. so I have to imagine Brock will eventually recover, but it is the kind of thing that lingers and might cause a problem for him come training time. Shitty deal.

Actually its diverticulosis my sis has but id imagine they're similar problems.

                          Update from Wetzel @ Yahoo:

“He had a hole in his intestine,” White said. “The (stuff) was leaking into his stomach. That’s what was causing him so much pain. That and he had abscesses.

“The doctor told him he hasn’t been right for a year. His immune system has been trying to fight this thing and that’s why he was susceptible to getting sick.”

That likely explains Lesnar’s original diagnosis of mono. He had been weakened to the point that he was unable to train for the Carwin fight for much of October. That prompted the original delay in the fight. Then last week, the intestinal problem flamed up and Lesnar was hospitalized.

“We’ll find out more next week,” White said. “We’re going to send him to the Mayo Clinic for a couple of days. I don’t know what to say. It’s looking better now than last week, but what that means, I don’t know.”

White said no decision would be made on setting up an interim heavyweight championship until he knew how long Lesnar might be out.

A series of promotional headaches are testing UFC president Dana White's mettle like never before.
