finger sucks and is expensive so he'll be hard to move. does that make kaberle more expendable?

enough so to go to ...atlanta? with like ponikadonkey and another player or pick?

atlanta sure could use kaberle, and he could play with kubina.
Kaberle won't be moved. Burke has said this like 100 times so I doubt it. Kaberle if he does get traded will be in the off season most likely unless some massive deal comes up.

Finger will probably get thrown in the AHL. He's a scratch almost every night.

Apparantly whoever is in the hunt for Kovy is being told by burke that if you need to dump salary dump it in TO.

The whole Kovy to leafs bs isn't going to happen.

Hagman is the only good player in that deal imo. Stajan's stats came due to playing beside Kessell, Mayers is a 4th liner and White is too small to play defensive hockey.

Hagman should be a nice quiet bump for the flames though.

I like this deal from the leafs and flames side.

Phaneuf is a good player who will be well worth his salary to the Leafs, I'm confident that he just needs a change of scenery to break out of his two year slump. I think with Calgary it was ships passing in the night. Essentially this deal should work out fine for both parties; the Flames definitely needed to shake things up, however the players they got are insignificant in comparison to Dion if you ask me.

Why would the Leafs take a $7M cap hit in Giguere?
Makes no sense, especially with Toskala's contract ending this year.

Based purely on a cap hit basis, the Leafs actually come out ahead next year and could be flush with cap space after 2011.
Oh. I thought Toskala was up this year.

Pretty sure Toskala's contract extension he signed in 07 was a two year deal. The talk was they weren't resigning him at the end of this year and they were trying to trade him away and get something out of it.

What they end up doing is use him as bait to get rid of blakes rediculous contract contract which still has 2 years after this year at 4mil a pop. He wasn't producing in TO but that could be contributed to a lot of things. (him going through cancer and such was a big factor)

Toronto Clears 8mil in contract space, I think giguere's is a 6mil hit so they essentially clear 2mil which is going to be used later for sure.

Word is that Toronto is far from done with deals and that they will be a fairly decent player in the Kovy deal.

All I keep seeing is Toronto talking with LA so who knows what happends there.

Flames cleaning house it seems. Now trading for Oli looks bad, as Lombardi was a much better talent that could have been used by the team now. As well as other prospects they had.
All you need to know when thinking of the NHL vs Madden series is the two people involved in making the games.

                        "rammer" and "cummings"

The NHL series is a giver, Madden takes the load.
