"On Paper" means shit all nothing. I never thought Russia on paper was as good as Canada. People just got to excited about the thought of Ovey/Malkin/Kovy as a possible line, along with Semin and Dats, but after that, you get a serious lack of depth with the KHL players.

The Slovaks got a great game from their goalie. Seems to be how you win this thing.

I enjoyed the Canada-Russia game despite the lopsidedness. It had the buildup of a heavyweight title fight. I totally agreed with the announcer in that Nabakov should have been pulled near the end of the 1st period, and, at the latest, in between the 1st & 2nd period. He was clearly rattled.

I think Canada scoring right away released all the pressure on the Canadian team and allowed them to play aggressive. Still, did anyone else see Babcock blowing up on the bench? They kept showing him on TV, and his face was getting redder and redder. During a stoppage in play after the third Canadian goal, they had a mic by him and he said "Guys, what the hell are you doing? Sure, you are dominating play, but scoring goals IS NOT PART OF THE SYSTEM!! STOP!! We can't win if you guys don't follow the gameplan here! And on defense, I expect everyone to be laying down on the ice. If I have to tell you guys again, then I'll put Brodeur in."
