It's entirely dependent on persepective. I'm sure if VANOC saw it going this way, they may had adjusted the criteria. When it's in Russia, and Canada tops the table again (hopefully) will your argument be invalid?
America (and now Canada) are the only nations who view medal tables by totals and not by golds. Frankly, I don't care. It's more the fact that Americans are using this total medal argument, which I concede, when much of the worlds population view the table in an entirely different way
I hope these games helped people (americans mostly) love hockey more. This was the perfect thing for the game and Bettmen better see that. He couldn't have asked for a better storyline for his league. Not only does he get a comeback, but also gets an OT gold medal game, and his poster boy Crosby gets the winner.
All you need to know when thinking of the NHL vs Madden series is the two people involved in making the games.

It was great for people who don't normally watch hockey, but that will quickly get ruined once these people watch Bettman's NHL and see nothing but a parade to the penalty box on weak calls that ruin the flow of the game.
Hopefully Bettman's dumbass realizes that the less the referees get involved, the better the game becomes. I fully expect the opposite to happen, however.
I certainly loved watching the USA-Canada games, but watching hockey on TV just isn't the same to me as seeing it live. It'll always take a backseat to college bball and the NBA unless they can comke up with some kind of camera work that's much closer to the ice.
I'll be very upset if he doesn't allow NHL'ers in the Olympics in 2014. Canada-USA was great, and Russia will likely save face and show up for those games as well.
Camera will not change. I just can never see how hockey is so weird to people. Puck is small yes, but the action is fast. Oh well.
They will be in the Olympics. I say this because the NHLPA and the NHL get to do another fun contract session soon and that will be one of the points the NHLPA will want to get in the agreement. The players want to play for their country.

See thats kinda funny to me. Basketball is right up there (probably close to baseball) for a sport that will put me to sleep watching it on tv.
