Overeem vs Werdum brings all the HW titles together

I know this isnt the 'money fight', but a true MMA fan would want this fight to be next, this is the opportunity to unite all the HW belts under linear logic, Strikeforce’s HW title would be the premiere HW Belt if this match is made next

The UFC title went from Couture to Enson, Enson to Kerr, Kerr to Fujita, Fujita to Coleman, Coleman to Nog, Nog to Fedor I believe, forgot the order but it stops at Fedor

Pride’s and the UFC's belt went from Nog to Fedor

WAMMA created for Fedor, Fedor was the linear HW champ of Pride, UFC and WAMMA, now Werdum has that honor, Overeem is the Strikeforce HW champ

Coker, make it happen, there might not be another chance for this

its up to M-1. they dont want that fight and even if it does happen it wont be for the belt unless fedor signs an extension.

but i concur, thats the premiere HW fight that needs to happen

What ever happened to the WAMMA belt?

I know one of the M-1 clowns said the Werdum fight was not for the WAMMA title...after Fedor lost.

        ?

Overeem vs Werdum doesn't need M-1's approval

The big loser in all this is Alistair. The gut spent the last 4 years of his career preparing for Fedor and Fedor alone. He's 1 fight away from realizing his dream fight (no pun intended) & Fedor drops the ball. I know we won't see it happen in Strikeforce & the chances of it happening at all are now in doubt.

If it's any consolation, I expect Overeem to pwn Werdum.

Fedor isnt going anywhere, he will sign an extension with Strikeforce

Finally Werdum comes to his senses, no more talks of rematches in Russia

In the moments right after the 69-second victory, Werdum said he'd graciously grant Emelianenko a rematch, and even do so on Russian soil. But once he had a chance to sit back and take in the entire situation, other thoughts came into play.

"That was with the emotions of the fight running high," Wilner said. "Once emotions subside and rationale thought prevails, Fabricio understands there's no upside to a rematch with Fedor unless M-1 puts a significant amount of money on the table. We have no rematch clause in our contract with Strikeforce."

Cross promotion seems like it would work in MMA, but there's been little talk of it.

I can't see any scenario where Fedor signs an extension. M-1's relationship with Scott Coker has been rocky and this has been a very awkward partnership they've had. I don't think Fedor fighting in the US has garnered the amount of attention we had all initially thought & I don't think Fedor likes fighting here at all.
