The only non-Zuffa guys you can consider for the PFP top 10 are Fedor and Nick Diaz. I'd say even Gilbert would be a reach at this point.

Fedor should still be up there. Everyone gets caught (even master Silva did).

Melendez is there based on the wins against Thomson & Kawajiri. Although Aoki was a top LW at that time, he was never a top P4P fighter.

You look at it like that, but Mousasi was dominated for 5 rounds, Machida was caught. Could go either way. I think Mousasi is in the 10-15 range after the loss.

The Aoki loss hurts Alvarez. Even with wins over Hansen, Crusher and Kikuno, nobody else is launching Eddie into top 10 PFP talk.

I will say Edgar at #4 PFP is a fucking joke.

theoretically, you'd like a nice balance

however if it was just perceived skills, lombard could lay claim to a top 10 spot, same with florian, mo, maynard, etc.

Dont remember exactly which rounds (I assume Mousasi took the first), but I do remember in the championship rounds, Mo maintaining top position for most of it.

Okay about getting caught, it works both ways.

Since May 2008 (Ill count the Hansen win):

Alvarez is 7-1, the one loss to Aoki, wins over Hansen, Crusher, Imada, Kikuno, Neer, Reynolds and Loughran

Machida is 4-1, the one loss to Shogun, wins over Shogun, Rashad, Thiago Silva and Tito

are we going to argue whose wins are "better?"

Plus, there is no discernible way to argue whose skills are "better"

Mousasi has a lot to prove at the top level after that ugly loss. Machida has much better wins.
