It's ok, Empire would rather watch half naked men wrestle around with each other.
All you need to know when thinking of the NHL vs Madden series is the two people involved in making the games.

      "rammer" and "cummings"

The NHL series is a giver, Madden takes the load.

Ok so I have figured out why watching Flyers game I only get the other team's feed. It's because for home games Comcast won't give up its feed to the NHL for gamecenter, its about as stupid as that sounds. If the game is away, I get the Flyers feed, if the Flyers are playing at home, I have to watch the other teams feed.

The PS3 app is still tits IMHO. I have been exploring games from last season, and they also do condensed games from this season along with highlights of the game. I think the condensed games mean they show every shot, goal and key play of the game.

I just watch streams off Firstrow.net for now (some games are in HD, although it's not quite as smooth, still very good), but during the playoffs I may splurge on the PS3 app to get HD games.

Either way, i'm so happy I don't pay for fuckin cable TV anymore.

The time is growing close for cutting the cord on cable/satellite. I mulled it over 6 months ago before moving to my current place. At that point the big concern was how to watch live sports without cable or satellite.

Since then, the 360 has gotten ESPN3, NHL and MLB are on PS3, and NFL now looks headed to gaming devices and content streamers. The NFL going would be the final straw. I'd probably part ways with DirecTV at that point. Everything I need is on Netflix/Hulu, ESPN3, sports packages, and local channels.

Maybe build a HTPC. The Roku XD looks great but I'd like a BluRay drive and DLNA streaming. I guess you could probably plug in an external BluRay drive. Boxee Box is another option but again no DLNA and its more espensive. Not sure why anyone would go Boxee Box over Roku. Theres got to be a reason for the price being twice as much.

With everyone now online live shit isn't needed. Was talking with leaf about this, that even shows like CSI and Criminal Minds are up online in hours or at the very least a couple days after they air, so rather then Wednesday being "criminal minds night" you watch it on stream the following Monday or so.
