"It seems due to Roger being such an aggressive and powerful fighter he often suffers an injury of some kind with every fight. Typically it's broken knuckles as has been the case in almost every fight he's had which has amounted to Bowling breaking almost every knuckle at least once and typically at the end of a fight where he's TKO'ing his opponent. However, his recent rematch against Bobby Voelker on Strikeforce proved to be ever more challenging as Roger was forced to dismiss his initial game plan due to a fractured leg he suffered after throwing a leg kick approx 30-40 seconds into the first round which was checked by Bobby causing the fracture.
At that point Roger made regular attempts to take Voelker down in efforts to get off the broken leg but Bowling simply didn't have the strength to keep Bobby down.
Voelker took the win in Round 2 by TKO.
I spoke with Roger the following day where he explained the broken leg and how it caused him to have to completely dismiss his originally plan of attack. He expressed a serious interest in a 3rd battle against Voelker once he has healed up fully but would prefer expanding his Strikeforce experience against one or two other fighters first. Battle 3 will sure as hell be a war best fought when both fighters are fully loaded."
