Daniel Cormier, Mike Kyle pick up wins at Australia's Xtreme MMA 3 event

Strikeforce heavyweight prospect Daniel Cormier kept his record unblemished with a first-round victory over UFC and PRIDE veteran Soa Palelei.
The bout served as the main event of Friday's Xtreme MMA 3 event in at The Sports Centre in Olympic Park, Australia.
Cormier dispatched of Palelei in the opening round via submission due to punches and retained the Xtreme MMA heavyweight title he earned in a July victory over Lucas Browne.
Cormier improves to 6-0 in a professional career that was launched just 14 months ago. The American Kickboxing Academy product and two-time Olympian has fought outside of the first round just once in that time.
Cormier is also the King of the Cage heavyweight champion and is 3-0 under the Strikeforce banner. His next bout in the U.S. has yet to be determined.
UFC, WEC and Strikeforce veteran Mike Kyle also earned a first-round victory on the Xtreme MMA 3 card. Mack outstruck an overmatched Stephen Oliver en route to picking up a TKO win in the opening frame.
Kyle has now earned five-straigt victories since suffering an August 2009 loss to Fabricio Werdum.
The Xtreme MMA 3 card also featured New Zealander "Big" Jim York, who improved to 15-4 with a second-round win over the aforementioned Browne. A four-time Sengoku veteran, York has won four-straight contests.
