Interesting UFC/WWE blurb from the Observer

The management for a fairly major UFC name, and maybe one of the last people you’d expect, has sent feelers about going to WWE when his contract expires. It’s not someone who would be high on anyone’s list of stars you’d ever expect to do it, and my advice would be not to go in that direction since he’s got no experience at all with pro wrestling.

He says it's "one of the last people you would expect", which eliminates Rampage, Lesnar, Sonnen, Tito Ortiz & Tom Lawlor, five guys who obviously either have a history involved in, or are big fans of pro wrestling.

It's obviously some super serious jock type, and probably someone a little bit older.

Any guesses? Maybe Muuuur, who understands promos and lost his cushy commentator gig? Cro Cop? It has to be someone 205 or larger. Even Rampage looked tiny on RAW a few months ago.

Mir would be expected to from his great promo work. Then again, he's always been a martial arts guy and has no links to the pro wrestling community.

You can eliminate all the Brazilians, too.

A fairly major name would lead you to believe it's one of a handful of guys. Maybe Mir since it would seem he doesn't have a long future in the UFC left.

Mir fits all of the criteria...his days are probably numbered, he has no prowres links, he has the right size & look, and he is the pure definition of "fairly major name".

From Mir's standpoint, I guess you could see why. If he believes his days of making serious coin in MMA are done, could he get a good sized pay day from going to WWE?

The way WWE works nowadays, I wouldn't count on him even enjoying the success Ken Shamrock did from 97-99. Well, unless they gave him a big contract which I could not see happening.

Now there's a name nobody would expect.

I wonder how he would fit in with the locker room.
