Well, this sucks...Walker injured, pulls out

    From Meltzer....

Herschel Walker, arguably the biggest ratings draw on the 12/4 Strikeforce event on Showtime that goes head-to-head with a live UFC show from Las Vegas, has been forced to pull out of the St. Louis event due to a cut that required stitches.

Walker, 48, suffered a deep cut under his left eye while training on Monday, and catching a knee from Daniel Cormier. Walker said he hoped to fight again as soon as the cut heals.

Strikeforce is expected to announce a replacement fight within the next few days.

Walker, would have been making his second appearance in the cage. He was the focal point of the publicity for a January show which drew Showtime's highest MMA television rating of the year.

One of the 20th centuries greatest all-around athletes, Walker in his prime competed at a high level in college football, where he is considered among the greatest players of all-time, as well as in pro football, track and even made the Olympics as a bobsled racer.

Dan Henderson vs. Renato Sobral headlines the event that goes against UFC's Ultimate Fighter final on Spike.

            On the bright side...

Hopefully the cut can heal within a month. The first show of 2011 for Strikeforce is being planned for January. If they can get a deal worked out with Fedor, that card may feature a Fedor fight and a Nick Diaz fight.

If Walker can heal by then and add him to the card, holy shit that one is stacked for SF.
