OSP vs Humprey at Strikeforce Challengers 13

Yancy Mederios is hurt, so who do you call? The hardest working fighter in the US, OSP

St. Preux-Humphrey replaces Medeiros-Salter at Strikeforce Challengers 13

    The busy gets busier.

After fighting six times and claiming six wins in 2010, Ovince St. Preux (9-4 MMA, 3-0 SF) quickly returns to action to fight fellow light heavyweight Ron "Abongo" Humphrey (7-2 MMA, 1-2 SF) on Jan. 7 at Strikeforce Challengers 13.

MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) today confirmed the booking, first reported by ESPN.com's Franklin McNeil, with Strikeforce spokesperson Mike Afromowitz.

According to Afromowitz, St. Preux vs. Humphrey takes the spot of a previously announce bout between middleweight Yancy Medeiros and UFC vet John Salter. Medeiros suffered a knee injury during training.

Strikeforce Challengers 13 takes place Jan. 7, and the event is slated for Nashville Municipal Auditorium in Tennessee. The main card, including a Tyroon Woodley vs. Tarec Saffiedine headliner, airs on Showtime.

With his 6-0 run 2010, St. Preux became a breakout star for Strikeforce, which promoted three of his fights, including a KO win over Chris Hawk and decision wins over Antwain Britt and Benji Radach in November and December, respectively. The Jan. 7 fight will be the former University of Tennessee linebacker's third in just eight weeks.

Humphrey, who opened his career with six consecutive knockouts to earn a Strikeforce contract, has found mixed success in the promotion. He debuted against Brett Rogers in 2009 and suffered a TKO loss and then rebounded with a quick submission victory over George Bush III back in March. Most recently, at Strikeforce Challengers 9 in July, he suffered a second-round submission defeat to Mike Kyle.

No way, the challengers with Zaromskis and Shaolin was better on paper.

I hope OSP doesn't gas against Abongo, cause that dude can knock down buildings.
