    Pacman/Mosley confirmed for May 7th

Shane Mosley has signed the contract to fight Filipino boxing superstar Manny Pacquiao on May 7 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
This was confirmed in a report by Fightnews.com which stated that the bout will be for Pacquiao's WBO welterweight title. The report says the contract was signed by Shane Mosley today.
In a related news report, Philboxing com's Ed de la Vega wrote: During the “Sports Segment of the 6 PM news over KNBC Channel 4 LA, they announced that Pacquiao has agreed to meet Shane Mosley on May 7th at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.
Upon hearing this, I texted Lee Samuels of Top Rank to verify the report. Samuel replied : “YES”.
Shane Mosley, who has severed ties with Oscar de la Hoya's Golden Boy Promotions to give him a free hand to negotiate with Pacquiao's promoter Bob Arum, said yesterday he was confident Pacquiao will choose him over Mexican Juan Manuel Marquez and Haitian-American Andre Berto.
Mosley, Marquez and Berto were part of the shortlist submitted by Bob Arum to Pacquiao during his recent visit to the Philippines to grace the Filipino boxer's birthday last December 17.

Meanwhile Pacquiao's trainer Freddie Roach is reportedly amenable to train Pacquiao again in Baguio City for the May 7 fight with Shane Mosley.
“Yeah, Baguio is still acceptable to me and I told Manny that already simply because there will be less distraction there than in Manila and Cebu where we had bad experience before,” Roach told Eddie Alinea of Philboxing.com
Pacquiao, a neophyte congressman, has been widely criticized for his lackluster performance during the early part of his training in Baguio City in preparation for his duel with Mexican Antonio Margarito last November 13.
Roach complained of too many distractions during Pacquiao's past training sessions in the Philippines.
But the legendary trainer said he understands the newly elected congressman has to attend to his constituents and perform his sworn duties as an elected public official.
