UFC 125 prelims to air on ION television

The Ultimate Fighting Championship has a new home on cable television – at least for one night.

MMAjunkie.com has learned that Ion Television has secured the rights to broadcast preliminary bouts from the forthcoming "UFC 125: Resolution" event.

In addition to the Baroni-Tavares fight, Dana White said two other highly anticipated contests – Marcus Davis vs. Jeremy Stephens and Josh Grispi vs. Dustin Poirier – will be featured on the Ion Television broadcast.

Ion is available in about as many homes as Spike is.

Check if you have it through their site. http://www.iontelevision.com/

Haven't you heard? Brock & Fedor cut a back room deal and will be fighting on MTV2 with proceeds going to the 'BRING BACK PRIDE' fund.

The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) drew 829,000 viewers in its debut on Ion Television. This is the first televised UFC preliminary card that failed to attract over one million viewers.

Probably because not many people had the channel, and even the ones that did had no clue the event was ON that channel.

Yeah, considering news broke four days before the show, I'd consider the 800k+ number to be solid. If they do it in the future, it should do better.
