UFC to MSG (When It's Legalized in NY)

UFC will have a press conference at MSG Thursday afternoon along with MSG officials to get the ball rolling. I really don't expect it to be legalized anytime soon because Sheldon Silver is against it and even though we have a new Governor, Silver is set in his ways.

    More from MeltzeR:

UFC just announced a press conference for 2 p.m. on Thursday in Madison Square Garden. Before getting too far ahead of things, this will not be the announcement of a first show in the venue as there are a number of legal hurdles to clear first.

Dana White, Lorenzo Fertitta, Frankie Edgar and Rashad Evans will be appearing along with Scott O'Neill, president of Madison Square Garden Sports, to make an announcement that UFC will come to MSG as soon as the sport of MMA is legalized in the state.

They will also unveil an economy study to talk about how much economic impact on the area such a show would bring when it comes to things like tourist revenue.

I'm not huge into this, but it's ridiculous that it is not legalized in New York. MSG can be such a huge venue for the UFC, but these damn politicians.

They had a pro-MMA NY State politician saying he asked the Governor to include it (overturning the present law, pushing for legalization) in the Governor's Budget...if he doesn't, the politician said he'll call for a vote to be had on the floor.

lmao holy shit, a woman asked if they're adding kicking/punching to martial arts, how they can keep it safe.

People are fucking stupid! ALL THE INFORMATION IS OUT THERE!

              Nothing we don't know already

Includes the economic predictions, no stance by Cuomo...basically exactly what was talked about at the press conference.
