Did Hulk Hogan go undefeated for 4 years ?
    How bout Mr Perfect ?
I can only remember Hogan fighting like a dozen times a year. Did wrestlers always fight that many times a year ?
Best reason to have a license.

During Hogan's peak years (84-88) he probably worked 200-250 matches per year.

Wrestlers today rarely work half of that figure.

The highest number of WWE matches I can find for a single year is 246 for Randy Savage in 1986. He also has the second highest single year total (242), in 1987.

From 1984-1986, Tito Santana & Greg Valentine went over the 200 mark three consecutive years.

Bret Hart had 232 matches in 1991, and 238 in 1992. He followed that up with 197 & 196 in '93 & '94, so he nearly had four consecutive years of 200+ matches (and he probably did do it four in a row, since complete records don't exist. It's likely a few matches from '93 & '94 are missing).

From 1980 - 2009, Bret Hart wrestled 2,403 WWF/WWE matches. That's the most all time. Here is the rest of the top ten:

            2. Undertaker - 2226
            3. Tito Santana - 1885
            4. Shawn Michaels - 1862
            5. HHH - 1799
            6. Kane - 1748
            7. Greg Valentine - 1629
            8. Randy Savage - 1614
            9. Davey Boy Smith - 1601
            10. Billy Gunn - 1444

Hogan is tied for 12th, at 1432, one spot ahead of THE BROOKLYN BRAWLER, Steve Lombardi. Hogan's single year high was 175 matches in 1987.

Keep in mind, these are just WWF/WWE figures.

As someone who was convinced these guys only worked the big Televised events that blew my mind.

My only suspicion as a kid was watching WWF spotlight hosted by Lord Alfred Hayes and seeing the One Man Gang fight and lose by accidentally getting hit by Slicks cane and succumbing to an immediate small package.....problem was I had seen this exact sequence happen a week earlier on WWF superstars where the ropes were red and blue and the ring drapes were different. Something didnt add up.....now I get it.

The best example of that was the Warlord and British Bulldog didn't they wrestle something like 190 times in one year?

Seems a bit high, considering 200 matches total in one year was considered an iron man workload in that era. But I do believe they did work against each other a ridiculous amount of times in either 1991 or 1992. I will attempt to look this up. I know a lot of the bookings were "arm wrestling challenges" where Warlord undoubtably ended up flipping the table on Bulldog just before he lost. That may skew the number.

Not trying to troll, I'm genuinely curious, why does it really matter when the outcome is predetermined?

It doesn't matter, its just interesting useless information. There are things that people who follow wrestling way to closely can decifer from some of the information, but its basically just fun trivia, because wrestling orginizations don't track statistics or keep records of anything.

I use to remember hearing about them wrestling a ton but I'm also struggling finding a definitive number.
