    Roy Nelson thinks like Liquidrob

    smart guy that big country

"I think Brock Lesnar is done," Nelson said. "I think Brock doing TUF is one way to basically take a situation and make it win-win for him. I think Lesnar doing the show is a way to introduce Junior Dos Santos to the American fan base in the way the show does. TUF introduces "stars in the making" to the casual UFC fan and while JDS is the number one contender he still needs some help with the American fan base. So the conspiracy basically comes down to the fact that Shane Carwin has no one to fight in June. I think Brock Lesnar will walk off the TUF set and then Carwin will take his spot or Frank Mir will come in to "save the day" and fight JDS for title contention. The reason I believe Frank would be the guy is because Mir is coming off a win and I was already supposed to fight Shane so fans were already hyped to see it. Or Carwin could move in to face JDS and I could still face Frank but it doesn't really matter to me as to who fights who because all that really matters is the fans want to see me fight somebody. A lot of things could happen over the next six weeks but it seems a bit off that Carwin doesn't have an opponent right now and all of the top heavyweights are spoken for."

So the UFC is expecting Lesnar to walk out on the show?

No way Brock is throwing away millions by leaving during taping.

Hasn't there been a situation on TUF where the coaches didn't fight each other after taping?

TUF 11 had Liddell/Ortiz and they didn't fight. Theres one more I think. Maybe season 2 with Hughes and Franklin?

                  Tito had to get surgery.

And he wasn't voluntarily leaving millions on the table.

Brock don't want to fight, they probably paid him a boat load to 'coach', spike probably made it happen, brocktober every month

I like how Nelson thinks fans were "hyped" to see him fight Carwin. Yes, the MMA world was just full of buzz for that fight...

Anyway, I put nothing past the UFC or Lesnar or Spike when it comes to a reality TV show, but Dana is not paying spmeone millions to just do the show, knowing they won't fight, because there is not enough return on that investment. Same for Spike. Nelson is reaching.

I understand that, but again, Lesnar does not come cheap, so the relatively minimal gains in ratings for Spike (we are talking tenths of percentage points) will not allow Spike to see enough of a return on the investment of paying Brock a lot of money to "just show up". Plus, Nelson is implying UFC is in on some coonspiiracy where Lesnar walks out, and they bring in a new coach to set up a new fight. In other words, use Lesnar to build JDS, then bait & switch to a new opponent. This has too many turning wheels and involves too many tinfoil hats. Butt this is a con man's game, so nothing ever surprises me.
