Dana is a big believer that traditional PPV is on it's way out. The belief is that as technology moves forward, and faster internet connections become more common (along with internet ready HDTV's), you can offer iPPV's to the consumer, which allows you to rake in all of the revenue without splitting it with cable/sat providers.

There are people in the wrestling biz who believe this will take over for traditional PPV within 5-10 years as well. I happen to agree.

Agreed. Playing around with it, having 4 camera angles going, the ability to chat, fan score etc, would make this pretty fun. I enjoy the social aspect of watching the fights, but as the ability to get internet on TV via built in and PS3 style streaming, this could make a big dent

Yup. Once internet ready HDTV's become commonplace in the majority of homes, you can say goodbye to traditional PPV. Just like when PPV killed close circuit in the 80's once most of the country converted to cable.

But that's assuming high speed internet is the norm. With all the talk of it eventually being capped or more costly (still don't totally understand how the telecoms will do it), is internet PPV really the big thing of the future?
