Barring decision-based finishes, most fights we see on TV don't go past 3 these days.

It would be nice to have the option though.

Kind of mixed on this. There are some fights I wish could be longer than 3, but then again, I enjoy watching how a guy fights when facing championship rounds for the first time.

They are considering 5-rounders for non-title main events. Not every fight.

And I agree with this concept. If it is the main event, then it should be a 5 round fight to make sure it is less likely to be based on the judges because we've seen some of the absolute worst judging recently.

My one question though is what about the "co-main events". Like how Franklin vs Griffen was a co-main event... would that be 5 rounds? I hope not since most co-main events are absolutely terrible.

            4 rounds.
After that if its a draw go to sudden victory. Keep 5 definite for title fights.

Im horrified at the potential snoozers that could come of this.
Best reason to have a license.

That would be interesting, but I highly doubt its gonna happen lol.

I think its a good idea.. but it can be a slippery slope when deciding what is worthy of 5 round fights. Will some co-main events be 5 rounders? Will those whack free Spike show main events be 5 rounders? Im not sure matches like Sanchez vs Kampman are worthy of 5 rounds.

I hope the only change they make is having all PPV main events be 5-rounds, whether the title is on the line or not.

Non-title co-mains remain 3 rounds and free show non-title main events remain 3 rounds. No sense in making Spike non-title main's 5-rounds since it would take away the amount of FREE MMA we can get.

No me gusta. Only title fights should be five rounds.

More rounds don't mean better judging nor does it guarantee an increase in finishes.

It does help with those shit ton of great fights that are tight going to the judges after 3 rounds tho.. 2 more rounds to figure it out is a positive in those situations. This can be a good and a bad thing tho, definitely. Sometimes those extra 2 rounds really arent necessary or wanted by the fan.

But those type of fights are uncommon and when they do happen, they are usually undercard fights. It's one thing to have a good three-round fight deliver or exceed expectations and want to see more, but it's another to put the pressure for a barnburner on the main event before the event.
