you say they haven't been back on CBS because of poor ratings for the April show.

I say, whoever expected that show to get good ratings was a fool.

        stay with me...

You say CBS got tired of SF because of the low ratings of the April sow. Anyone in their right mind knew that show wasn't going to do good ratings with Jake Shields in the main.

maybe you need to get your reading glasses...

Empire, I don't follow your logic.

Do you think CBS/SF intentionally put on a show that they knew would get a bad number?

Obviously they thought Hendo would draw. He didn't.

Trying to remember the ratings of the Hendo/Bisping TUF season and for obvious reasons, all I know is the Kimbo season did well.

If CBS was ready to kick SF off the network with one bad number (I read one source that said it was a 33% drop from the previous number)...clearly, Henderson/Shields was not going to do anything that would make people scream in excitement.

Why not give 'em a chance with a legit draw on top and then make a decision?

If SF truly believed Henderson was a ratings mover, not sure about that. I guess they had to truly believe it since they put him in the main event and I cannot remember any other fight on the show besides King Mo/Feijao (I think).

Of course they believed it, they signed him for big money and put him in the main event of an important show.

It just didnt deliver, and the buzz afterwards was that they greatly overestimated his star power.

Whatever the reason for SF not being on CBS right now, what fight can they offer that would truly make CBS perk up and listen?

Lets face facts, SF's big draw isn't Melendez (who is arguably their best P4P fighter), it isn't Diaz, it was one fight... Fedor vs Overeem. Instead of doing one quick warm-up (Rogers) and a fight between the two, they changed things around and didn't do the fight. What happened? SF screwed the pouch. In UFC terms, they got Gonzaga'd.

Can anyone tell me one fight that SF could offer that would make CBS listen?

SF didn't blow the Fedor/Overeem fight, M1 did.

                      Herschel Walker vs. Dave Batista.

Of course, you do a "fake" main event with non gimmick fighters on top, but everyone would know what the draw was.

Walker vs. Batista would do a great number.

Batista isn't nearly the draw people think he is. Brock was an amazing college wrester, a very popular professional wrestler, was involved with the NFL, and then went to MMA. Batista never nearly got over with the WWE crowd as Brock did and really doesn't have anything else to legitimize himself like Brock did with his collegiate wrestling. Batista was a body builder, not a competitive athlete like Brock.

Walker is an ok draw, not great, but ok. Batista could maybe draw as an undercard, but definitely not as a main eventer. Combined, the two would make CBS walk away, not stand at attention.

Batista was a far bigger pro wrestling star than Lesnar. Not only that, he far less removed from being on national TV every week on a highly rated program than Lesnar was.

Brock's collegiate wrestling and training camp stint in the NFL has very little to do with his drawing power in MMA.

Batista would draw an incredible number of curiousity eyeballs from wrestling fans, but the clock is ticking because the further he is removed from wrestling, the less it will matter.

Gina had CBS's best ratings besides Kimbo, she will now be staring in a movie

I can't remember, but she might have had the highest spike (or close to it) for the qaurter hours on the ratings, Gina is a star and when she comes back they will pitch that fight to CBS, I would make it a co-main event and have a title fight as the main event, maybe a Hendo or Diaz, Overeem would be the best option because he would benifit the most from the casual fans watching but timing my not allow it with the GP, unless they put the 2nd round on CBS with Gina on the card
