Champion Eddie Alvarez vs. Pat Curran @ Bellator 39

Would have edited it into the previous thread but screw it, Alvarez deserves his own.

Curran upset Roger Huerta in the semi-finals of the season two tournament and then defeated Toby Imada to win it all, becoming #1 contender.

Alvarez last fought in a non-title bout with Huerta and crushed the former SI Cover Dude.

It will be interesting to see how Curran can handle the big dog Alvarez, especially after such a long layoff. I don't think his wrestling will be enough.

Alvarez will dominate this fight, and win with minimal effort.

Lol @ Pat Curran. I REALLY hope Bellator can bring in some talent to challenge Eddie, or co-promote.. Pat Curran is NOT gonna get it done.

          Ask Coker about co-promoting.

Then again, people said the same thing about Curran when he fought Huerta.

Season 4 lightweight tournament consists of:

Toby Imada (28-15) - Possibly the favorite, Went to both the season 1 & 2 lightweight finals but lost to Alvarez and Curran. Those his only two losses in the past four years. The man who beat Masvidal with the inverted standing choke.

Patricky Freire (Pitbull's brother) (7-1) - Went undefeated last year in three fights

Marcin Held (10-1) - Polish fighter, is on a 2 fight win streak, went 3-1 last year...is 19-years old

Michael Chandler (5-0) - Wrestler, won two fights in Bellator last year, has finished each of his opponents

Lloyd Woodard (10-0) - Went 3-0 last year, has finished all but two of his opponents

Ferrid Kheder (18-5) - From Tunisia, he's an Olympic Judo guy who trains with Sean Tompkins. Was a welterweight but has since dropped. He is 13-1 in his last 15 fights...last one was a no contest with Hermes Franca.

Razor Rob McCullough (19-6) - WEC veteran, is 2-0 since leaving the promotion in 2009. Beat Corey Hill in his last fight.

Carey Vanier (10-3) - Trains with Greg Jackon's Camp, lost to Imada in May but beat Rich Clementi in his last fight.

Sherdog has the brackets as such:

          Imada vs. Kheder
          Chandler vs. Held
          Razor Rob vs. Freire
          Vanier vs. Woodard
