Why is And1 and the UFC trying to get GSP to move up?

Silva is a big MW, has beatdown two 205ers, he didnt want to go for the LHW title because Machida is his friend, Shogun is the champ now, why has this never been put on the table?

Why are they trying to get GSP to come up? He isnt even a huge WW and never has fought higher than 170 unlike Silva who has done it a couple times

If I was GSP, I would tell them to go fuck themselves, he pretty much already has in a recent interview, but in a nice french canadian way

If And1 wants a 'challenge', how about going up in weight class against the current champ and not trying to get a guy to come up

I agree. While as a fan, I want to see this fight, I don't think there is anything wrong with GSP staying at WW. He says he has to put on a ton of weight that will prevent him from moving back to WW in the future.

If he beats And1, then he has to fight someone like Sonnen, who also has a huge weight advantage on him. If he loses, and then gets smothered by someone like Sonnen in a 3 round fight, all of a sudden all the sheen is gone. I'd rather he stay at 170, and let the UFC develop new challengers.

GSP doesn't want the fight, but he will drag his feet and end up taking it becaue he is a nice guy.

Id rather see And1 vs Shogun/Jones by a country mile.
Best reason to have a license.

Silva has said he has zero interest in playing around at 205 anymore.

If I'm GSP, I don't move up either. Too much for him to lose. If he abandons 170, moves up and loses to Silva, he's fucked.

Now that they have the SF 170ers, there is a whole new pool of people they can build in to challengers for GSP

They don't co-promote, even with themselves...

We shall see how long that lasts. As contracts expire, people will move over I am sure

Why wouldn't you want to have a fight to determine who the best P4P fighter in the world is?

Shogun vs Silva would do that

Because one guy is way bigger than the other, also, it woudlnt even decide that really, GSP is a WW, And1 is not, meeting at 185 doesnt mean much for sIlva at least
