No shit Dana's percentage is the lowest of the Zuffa owners, but he's the day to day boss. Btw, Dana has nothing against Diaz, in fact he said he liked the kid and said he's always be welcome back to the UFC.

It's no secret what Dana's goal is. He's said it for over a year about wanting to take the UFC into countries all over the world and put on tons of fights. He said it himself, he needs fighters. Buying SF is one way to go about bringing in a new stable of fighters.
Dana is the mouthpiece and doesnt do 'big deals'

thats why they let one of the brothers babysit him for the last year or so, he is there to generate buzz and 'act tough'

Dana doesn't like Showtime. So instead of having him deal with them, they keep Coker around to promote the SF brand and deal with Showtime. Once the Showtime contract ends, if Coker wants I'm sure they'll give him some new title in the office and then the merge happens.

Learn to love Zuffa my fellow ZuffaZombie.

Besides, UFC has had plenty of exciting fights this year. A bloody war just last week as a matter of fact.

The Fertitta's: Hey Dana, we just bought Strikeforce

Dana: WTF?!!? Why did you do that?!?? I want to crush them! I will put on Gray vs Edgar III...wait, I mean, Chuck vs Tito III...uh...what about Rampage vs Rashad II?

The Fertitta's: Um, no, just go announce it like when we had the toy deal

                Dana: Ok....fuck

                The Fertitta's: what?

                Dana: Nothing...

The headline is UFC buys StrikeForce, not Dana buys StrikeForce. Doesn't really make a difference who cut the deal. Either way it's gonna be a shitty outlook for the fans and fighters in the next 3 years.

no one knows how this will pan out, another 'number 2' will appear, maybe bellator, maybe showtime backs M-1 or another group we dont even know about yet

At the end of the day, Zuffa pretty much just purchased the pride library, we might have the same thing on our hands when the showtime deal ends, contracts end quickly

the difference here is, showtime still has there library I would assume, so they still have eliteXC and SF fights to use if they keep doing MMA

I wouldn't totally compare the Pride purchase with this. Besides the fact the UFC decided they had no way of running the business in Japan, Strikeforce still has TV contracts to fulfill.

Assuming Showtime sticks with it, I wouldn't expect the UFC to purchase any significant contracts and move guys to the UFC. When guys have their deals run out, I'd expect the bigger names to move to the UFC and the prospects or younger fighters to stick in Strikeforce.

Of course, anything can happen. What if Strikeforce in April opens up with Goldy and Rogan with Buffer in the cage?

I'm interested to see how much they advertise that show and how much of a bump in the ratings they get because of it.

why would you see Goldie and Rogan in th cage?

Showtime produces the show, thats it, they put who they want, Showtime has a contract with them, thats why Dana keeps saying 'business as usual', when they deals are all done, guys will be free agents that can be, the ones with contracts still will be, etc...just like pride

plus, showtime still would have the library rights also I would assume, they can still promote MMA and show the old eliteXc, Strikeforce fights

Showtimes deal with Strikeforce was for 3 years, they still hav like a year and a half

                          M-1 still co-promotes, etc..

The only big change I can see is zuffa promoting the strikeforce brand on there other stations and help the ratings, it actually will help showtime for the mean time until the deals are done

who knows, one of the brothers will deal with showtime and they might work out a deal, Dana wont have his hands in it

i dont get how its gonna be a "seperate organization"

are we really not gonna see the likes of overeem, fedor, diaz, melendez, hendo, etc. not fight guys in the UFC? doesnt really make sense.

and im sorry rob. i know a little piece of you died when you heard the news. my condolences buddy.

Rob you are delusional if you think Dana doesn't have major influence on everything Zuffa does. That sounds like the nonsense armed spews. If anything, Dana does the thinking, and the Fertittas cut the checks.

And TUF was 100% Dana's baby.
