Yep, it's all but official that GSP doesn't want to move up.

Too bad Silva doesn't want to move up because And1/Bones would be a great fight.

All he's saying is that GSP has to take care of business first.

        Read between the lines.

GSP has been talking recently and sounds like the last thing he wants to do is move up.

How do you figure. He said he would do it if given the proper time. Once he sees the $$ the fight will happen, it's just a question of when.

I really dont think Georges WANTS to do it, but theres gonna come a time where his own pride is going to make him do it, because he will have literally just cleared out a division. Hes gonna face Shields first, then fight the winner of BJ/Fitch im sure, and may linger for a bit more at WW, especially considering there may be a couple new challenges for him with Strikeforce coming into play (namely Diaz) but GSP is a guy who needs to prove things to himself, so eventually its going to be done. But hes also a very smart and respectful fighter, he will likely want to fight a few times at MW before he even tackles Anderson, and rightfully so. And god knows what can happen between now and that time to hinder that fight from happening. Like Dana said, its just a fantasy at this point, and should only be taken as such.

GSP has talked about a potential move to 185 as an entire lifestyle change. It's not something that will be done in a matter of 90 days.

Plus, they have Diaz theoretically in play by the end of 2012.

I'm guessing if the fight does end up happening, it'll be at a catchweight with Silva making 178 or something like that.

So that by no means says that the fight is off and it won't happen. Once GSP beats Shields that lifestyle change will begin.

I just don't see it happening that fast, if at all.

I read GSP's comments when he talks about it as being more turned off by the pain in the ass it would be.

Besides, Silva's next fight would theoretically be against Okami (unless GSP wins next month and immediately says he's moving up to fight Silva). So GSP would wait until that fight to see if Silva retains before committing.

Well here's an idea - instead of having the P4P best fight each other let's do Silva vs Bones instead. One moment you say people are crowning him too fast and then you say he should fight the best guy in the world. Well what has he done to deserve or make that an interesting matchup already?

You got two of the best guys here, a division apart, and both have cleaned out their division. Sorry if it's a pain in the ass to put on the weight, but the fight makes too much sense not to make a push for it.

Please tell me how a guy who towers over the other guy and has fought 2 weight classes above makes sense?

GSP has no reason to move up, And1 isnt looking for a challenge, he is looking for a great PPV buy number because of GSP's star, if he wants a challenge, move up, not down

Let's see a side by side of GSP and Penn, or Shogun and Bones for that matter. A fighter being taller and bigger than his opponent happens all the time.
