Bellator 38 ratings dip again, event averages 150,000 MTV2 viewers

Bellator ratings dipped for a second week, and this past weekend's Bellator 38 event drew a season-low 150,000 viewers on MTV2.
MMAjunkie.com (UFC blog for UFC news, UFC rumors, fighter interviews and event previews/recaps | MMAjunkie.com
) today confirmed the ratings information with an event source.
The March 26 event, which took place at Harrah's Tunica Hotel and Casino in Tunica Resorts, Miss., aired at a special start time of 7 p.m. ET/PT to avoid overlapping with Spike TV's broadcast of UFC Fight Night 24.
The event, though, featured little in the way of starpower. Despite a competitive field, the opening round of the organization's light-heavyweight tournament was light on household names. Ultimately, though, Tim Carpenter, D.J. Linderman, Richard Hale and Christian M'Pumbu picked up tourney victories during the broadcast.
Hale's victory, in fact, is building some interest on YouTube. The veteran fighter pulled off a rare submission victory when he stopped Nik Fekete with an inverted-triangle choke, a move Toby Imada used in a season-one tourney to win the 2009 World MMA Award "Submission of the Year" trophy.
However, Bellator ratings have steadily fallen since a season-best 230,000 viewers tuned in for Bellator 36 two weeks ago. A week later, Bellator 37 drew just 173,000 viewers. MTV2, which is airing its first 12-week season of Bellator, caters mostly to a young-male demographic.
A replay of Bellator 38 that aired at midnight ET/PT drew 97,000 viewers.
The first-run season-four ratings include:
Bellator 35 ratings: 200,000 viewers
Bellator 36 ratings: 230,000
Bellator 37 ratings: 173,000
Bellator 38 ratings: 150,000
