    Hendo/Fedor

    from mmamania.com

according to M-1 Global's Apy Echteld

"He agreed. He's ready to fight. With his progress from training, I can only think he'll be back the way he was. If he doesn't win, he'll make his own decisions like he does now. If he stops, he stops. But if he wins, I think he'll continue fighting."

Probably one of the most interesting matchups to be made post-Pride.

According to sources close to Emelianenko’s management team at M-1 Global, the fight is currently in the works for a late July date in a co-promoted M-1 Global/Strikeforce show.

While final agreements are not in place, the current plan is to feature Emelianenko vs. Henderson in a special heavyweight attraction with the agreed weight for the fight to be at 220 pounds.

Whens the last time Hendo fought over 205 ?

Damn interesting. One of those matches you really hate to see either guy lose. A loss for Hendo still isnt a big deal considering hes stepping up in weight class. For Fedor a loss here is super huge.
Best reason to have a license.

If Fedor losses (and I think he very well may), ill give it a 75% chance he retires, if not higher.

The only nail left in the Fedor coffin needs to be hammered with an H-Bomb.

              Good night, Sweet Emperor.

Fedor beats Hendo, then rematches with Werdum and we'll see where his contract takes him then.

Sources close to both fighters tell me the Fedor Emelianenko and Dan Henderson fight has been finalized for July 30th in Chicago on Showtime

Sources close to the promotion say the Fedor-Henderson fight will at a catchweight of 220. It will be promoted as a heavyweight bout.

If it's a catchweight bout, Fedor's camp won.

Henderson talked about in the past that he would only fight if it was at heavyweight with no catchweight. Guess he changed his mind.

the catchweight thing is a non-issue, it's actually tougher on Fedor, if the catch weight is 220, Dan can weigh 206 to 220, so it's just a HW fight like Dan wants

Dan's management said the catchweight thing isnt even an issue, wouldnt hold up the fight

Kimbo vs Alexander was set for 215, Houston wighed in at 208, Kimbo just under 215 I believe

Yeah, Fedor would likely weigh around 220 anyway. This catchweight stuff is a non issue. Only Fedor going to 205 would have mattered.

I think Fedor is going to knock him out.

Not even Fedor, but why did Hendo seem so adamant about no catchweight?

If Fedor wins...where does he go from there ? Winner of HW tourney ?
                            Fighting catchweight superfights ?

I would say possible drop to 205, no reason to 'try' and get to 220 without going down, which is funny, 220 shouldnt even be a problem, tahts not even cutting for Fedor

IF he beats Hendo I can see him also fighting the loser of THE REEM/Werdum which means Werdum, I think he believes he can beat Werdum, I dont think he wants anything to do with Big Foot
