    Larry Sweeney is dead

Chris Hero has been on twitter all day talking about it. Meltzer says it was suicide.

If you never had the pleasure of watching him perform, he was a throwback. Last of a dying breed, easily the best manager in the business when his mind was right. Would have been the next Bobby Heenan if the business hadn't changed so much, and I believe he would have eventually made it anyway. Super, super talented dude.

Read about it a few hours ago. Was honestly hoping that it was just some internet rumor, but it was on too many reliable places.

Terrible since he was so young. And a helluva manager when he was right. Do recall reading some stuff he did after he was let go by ROH that made me think he wasn't right in the head...

        Son of a bitch.

        Awful news.

At the time, I recall reading he had mental issues of some sort and had trouble dealing with them in the correct way or some shit.

He was the best manager in the business back then and it's horrible how he fell off the earth and ultimately couldn't survive.

Hero shared this from his twitter:

Sweeney hung himself on a ringpost at a wrestling school in Louisiana.

          HOLY. SHIT.

Report said his depression stemmed from an auto accident when he was a teenager that left his passenger with severe injuries.

            Sad story all around.

Whether this played a role in his decision, Hero said Sweeney was concerned about going to jail on a DUI charge because he no showed a court date (Hero said he wasn't driving, but he was found sleeping with an open bottle by police who charged him because the key was in the ignition despite the car being parked overnight).

Sweeney's ex apparently spoke with him the day before and said he was in a positive mood.

                Unfortunate all round.

Bro, he's bi-polar. You go from manic to depressive and all shades in between at the snap of a finger.

Some great Sweeney stories are emerging.

For years, he never revealed where his "12 large, baby!" catchphrase came from. Said it was an inside joke. Turns out he worked some indy shot somewhere, and the slimy promoter tried to dodge the payoffs. Tracy Smothers was one of the guys getting screwed, and in case you may not know, Smothers is not the guy you want to beat on a payoff, because he's a fucking nut.

Anyway, Smothers took the promoter into a room, shut the door, and came out a few minutes later with a shit eating grin. Sweeney asked him how much he got out of the guy, and Smothers held up two fives and two singles and said...

                        "12 large, baby!"

Only was in a room with him once, probably on his worst day. He deserved more help then he was given. Not saying there were not guys that tried, but he deserved better

Damn, a year yesterday since he passed. A shame.
