if either of them had an ounce of personality then yes it could be, but both of them are bland "nice guys" who dont talk shit and cant hype a fight.

Not every fight needs to be a grudge fight to the death.

These are the top two welterweights of the past 5 plus years. People have wanted to see them fight since 2008. Amazingly, both guys have continued winning and it's just a couple weeks away.

Two Top 5 fighters in the world...Maybe the #1 fighter in the world and the #1 non-title holder in the world.

If the difference between Super Fight and not Super Fight is personality, its a Super Fight.

I'd argue that it is a Super Fight on credibility alone. There may not be a lot sizzle from it, but you have the two best welterweights on the planet, both are Top 10 P4P fighters, and they both have been dominant for an extended time.

I dont see how its not a super fight. The best p4p fighter in the world, and world champ, vs a guy who hasnt lost in almost 7 years, and against stiff competition too, who was also world champ in an opposing organization.. its the definition of a Super Fight. In terms of world rankings, its probably the 2 highest ranked fighters fighting each other in a while (unless you consider Bones/Shogun to be about the same).

A superfight has to be exciting and something special. This fight could turn out to be one of the best chess matches that we've seen, but there's probably an equal chance that it ends up being a lot of lay and pray and grappling that isn't going anywhere. It's also missing something special behind it.

If this qualifies as a superfight, then so does every fight that puts a champion against a top contender from that given weight class. I don't buy that.

To me, a true superfight has a degree of build, hype, and anticipation that this one just lacks.

on paper, yes, but because of the lack of drama and intrigue surrounding the fight i don't think it can be called a super fight

                              I mean it's no Bonnar/Griffin. But it'll do.
