    NHL Standings - 2.17.09

I just figured i'd post the league standings in conference format, it'd be easier than to go to nhl.com and do it..

Anything surprise you guys this far in the season?
Any teams you're disspointed about or impressed with?

    RIP West

I'm actually kind of surprised the Flames are doing so well this season. I thought we would be a 6 seed or so right now, not leading our division, I just hope we can finish out strong and maybe take the 2 seed.

i've watched both teams, the bruins and flames, and both seem to dominate whoever they're playing on offense and defense..

i didn't think the flames would do as good as they have been, and the bruins, holy sh*t.

my team has always been the red wings, so i kind of expected that they'd be in 1st or 2nd, but they've been slipping as of late, san jose's been crazy good but they're slipping as well..

What do you guys think about the Coyotes?

I've read / heard that they're set to lose $45 Mill this season, and 3 offers to buy and relocate the team have been rejected by the NHL.

It's off-topic from this thread but what do you guys think or your opinions on what'll happen to the team?

The Islanders and Predators are in trouble too from what i've heard, there might be some relocating done in the coming seasons, that's just my thought.

        RIP West

I really dont follow hockey in depth like I do with the Bruins but if they do relocate a team then they most likely move one to canada.

To bad it means nothing since its the regular season and we wouldnt even play the sharks in the playoffs unless both teams were to get into the stanley cup finals.

Im just hoping the bruins can make it out of the first round of the playoffs. If they do that then I will be talking about the stanley cup.

Well Toronto wants another team, they think their economy can support two teams...If anything, the relocating would be done to somewhere in Canada say Winnipeg or Hartford, because they had teams that were alright, or somewhere in the midwest - northeast, where all hockey should be.

                    The only teams i see making it to the Stanley Cup Finals just by points is obviously;

                    Boston
                    Washington

                    San Jose
                    Detroit

I know there'll be teams that make the playoffs that might knock one of them out, but all four of those teams are so dominant over the rest of the league, i find it a good chance that the teams i listed will atleast be in the conference finals, and then go from there to the Cup.

I want my Wings to repeat, the only thing that's been keeping them from pulling away in every game is goalie play, but that's only when Osgood is playing.
The thing is is that he's done this every year in his career, played horrible in the regular season, primarily right after the All-Star Break, and then when he plays in the playoffs he's a monster that doesn't let anything in..I can hope it'll be the same, but ya never know.

yeah for real, i hate how everyone's all crazy about Crosby.
                          Three names.

                          Ovechkin
                          Datsyuk
                          Zetterberg

                          They're all better than Crosby.
