WWE giving up on Mistico already

WWE is announcing a new signing tommorow. Its expected to be Averno, another CMLL luchdor who in my opinion is far more seasoned and suited for the WWE than Mistico was (La Somba would still be the best guy to bring in, but to be honest I'm glad they haven't done so because selfishly i'd rather watch him grow into the top dog in CMLL).

Mistico was all wrong from the start. Taking away many of his key spots was obviously stupid, but that's what they do. He might go down as the biggest flop in company history.

Averno is doing a mask vs mask vs. La Mascara on 6/17, adding to the speculation. The mask vs mask could be a blowoff match for his character.

He's a fool if he agrees to drop his mask. He's still a huge star and he could easily bomb in the WWE. I hope the payoff is tremendous if this is what is going down.

Of course, this is all speculative right now, so who knows. It could be La Sombra or someone else.

I'll just go ahead and assume if it is Averno they're bringing in, that they'll set him up with Sin Cara.

Enough of this pitting him with guys who don't mesh well.

They do have to do something since it's obvious they have zero confidence he can speak English (hasn't he been taking lessons?) to get him over. That stupid light doesn't do shit.

He doesn't mesh well with anyone. Are they going to sign the entire CMLL roster to placate him?

His charisma does not translate. He needs to be dynamic and do all of the athletic highspots to get over. But they won't let him (act shocked). And even then, he's just a masked Evan Bourne. Evan Bourne actually does better, more impressive looking shit (half of which he isn't allowed to do, either).

It might not even be a luchdor that they signed. But based on Big Dave's comments, I'm leaning in that direction.

Big Dave says its not a big name, but its someone whose signing is meaninful on many levels. A luchador fits like a glove, because It would show they are worried about Mistico, and are either replacing him or giving him taylor made opponents.

If its an ROH guy, it could mean that the new ownership isn't as stable as we might think and is willing to let guys under contract walk.

If its a top Jap, maybe it means whatever company he's from is in trouble.

Who knows. I'm curious as fuck, but leaning towards luchador. Averno rumors are picking up steam. I hope it isn't Sombra.

Mistico has been going up against Primo and Chavo...I mean...don't gimme dat "pitting him with guys who don't mesh well" stuff...its not like he is facing Sheamus every week.

I said it from the beginning...Mistico would flop badly. You can't recreate Rey Mysterio...not in the environment that wrestling is in today.

It's not like Chavo is a perfect opponent for him.

He's had decent enough TV bouts (about as decent as a 5 minute match could be) with Tyson Kidd, Primo (although Primo fell off the turnbuckle), Danielson (duh) and I vaguely recall one RAW tag with Cena against a pair I forgot.

I don't think he's flopping as much as he's doing the best he can with what he's able to do. He apparently can't talk, so they don't give him a manager or anything. Unless you're a monster heel (Kharma), you can't get over without talking.

If they give him something of substance to do on TV other than a 5 minute meaningless match, he'll get over fine.

It was against Miz and Riley I believe.

WWE is retarded.. they thought they were gonna shoot this guy to the moon, kinda did, but pulled the rug from him before he got a chance to really work out the kinks in his game adjusting to WWE's style. Dude was already over with the crowd, so that part was taken care of. I still think the character can work WITH EASE if given the proper time/stage, but it wont be lol.

Chavo, Danielson, Kidd, and Primo are some of the best guys in the company! Two speak spanish, and all of them are close to his size!

If he can't get over or work with those guys, what's the point? He'll never be able to work with Cena or HHH or Kane or whoever.

Excuses, excuses. I can look good with Daniel f'n Bryan or Primo, and I haven't taken a bump in 15 years. GTFO.

LOL. Mistico has been asscheeks so far.

As long as they don't bring over La Sombra, I'm good.

Mistico's been fine in short TV matches.

I won't judge him until they give him something meaty and he's the shits.

I havent watched every week cause I cant stomach it, but from what I saw he looked fine to me. A couple blown spots against a roster who hasnt used aerial maneuvers in years is to be expected me thinks.

There's a reason he is booked in 5 minute matches and was moved to the taped show.

Funny how there have been more blown spots in a half dozen of his matches than in the previous 100 TV matches.

Expanding the Lucha influence is not a sign they are giving up on mistico,

But everyone is booked in 5 minute matches?

Exactly what I was about to post.

Seems only the top guys (Cena, Orton, Punk, Miz, Christian) get to work extended matches consistently.
