    Interesting UFC Scheduling

Don't think these are all official but according to the glorious wiki....

    UFC 135
    September 24

    Bones Jones vs. Rampage Jackson
    Frankie Edgar vs. Gray Maynard
    Matt Hughes vs. Diego Sanchez

    UFC 136
    October 8

Cain Velasquez vs. Junior dos Santos
    Jose Aldo vs. Kenny Florian

    UFC 137
    October 29

    GSP vs. Nick Diaz

What the hell, if these turn out to be accurate? At least one if not two of these shows will suffer IMO for being within such a close window of each other. GSP/Diaz should do the most so why would they put Cain/JDS, Aldo/Florian, Rampage/Bones, Maynard/Edgar within 4 weeks of it?

What will they have the December or January? Perhaps Anderson Silva?

I've been talking about oversaturation of PPV for two years now. They dont have enough big draws to sustain the current schedules they are trying to pull off. \

I thought 2010 would be the year the PPV growth stopped, but I was off by one year because 2011 is not going to top 2010.

I think Zuffa is slowly moving from the current model. They will focus on cutting more TV deals, more international deals, and eventually will move into streaming their own PPV's so they don't have to split revenue with cab/sat.

Without the revenue split, monster buyrates can be traded for volume buyrates...PPV's every week, from all over the globe, at lower cost, srteamed themsleves while keeping 100% of the gross. Four or five PPV's per month, doing 100k each, with no split, trumps one PPV that does 600 or 700 with a split. Not to mention four or five gates trumping one gate.

Its coming. Give it 4 or 5 years.

Talks of there own network , and a recent partnership with XBOX Live seems to align with this.

These matches are too close together. Regardless of long term plans short term it doesnt make much sense. 136/137 should be smushed together for a super card. JDS/Cain dont have the ppv pull yet. Putting them on a GSP card would have given the winner alot of eyes and future potential.
Best reason to have a license.

              Changes

              UFC 135
              September 24
              Bones Jones vs. Rampage Jackson
              Frankie Edgar vs. Gray Maynard
              Matt Hughes vs. Diego Sanchez

              Jose Aldo vs. Kenny Florian

              UFC 137
              October 29
              GSP vs. Nick Diaz

              UFC 138?
              November 19
Cain Velasquez vs. Junior dos Santos

              ----

Perhaps they'll put Aldo/Florian on the GSP card and 136 will end up being one of those sandwich shows with less hype.
