The Battle of the Jake's - Shields vs. Ellenberger

Expected for this Fall, sucks major balls we don't get Shields/Penn.

    MMAFighting.com

Following his unanimous decision UFC welterweight title loss in April, Jake Shields likely will next face surging 170-pounder Jake Ellenberger.

Though the fight has not yet been made official by the UFC, sources close to the bout confirmed to MMA Fighting last week that the fighters have agreed to the planned matchup for this fall.

Shields should be fighting Fitch, or even Penn

Oddly enough, I'm intrigued with how this matchup goes. Ellenberger showed some moxie to offset his suspect sub defense against a very game Rocha. I think that this is a very winnable fight for Shields, but Ellenberger's heavy hands will make things interesting.

I'd love to see it. If Fitch takes him down, Shields would sub his ass. If not, we get to watch an asskicking.

Sometimes the best thing to do is match up 2 boring guys, it can cancel each other out or it just makes 1 boring fight instead of 2

Amazing how two boring fights tarnishes a fighter forever.

Yet, Anderson Silva is still viewed as one of the most exciting.
