Sabres sign Leino to six year deal

Vilie Leino has been inked to a six-year deal with the Buffalo Sabres worth $27 Million.

In 81 games with the Philadelphia Flyers last season Leino had career highs with both 19 goals and 53 points.

Leino was originally signed by the Detroit Red Wings from Jokerit of the Finnish Elite League in 2008 and spent the first two years of his NHL career in Motown.

The 27 year old forward was traded to the Flyers during the 2009-2010 and had 11 points in 55 games split between the two clubs.

Underrated when he came to Philly, overrated going to Buffalo. He had the least defensive responsibility on the whole team last year and wasn't nearly as good as he was in 2010. He shows flashes but no way is he worth the money Buffalo is paying him.

I will go out on a limb here and say he's a good player and they'll get what they paid for. It seems like it's hard for most Philly fans to say thanks, especially to a player who took the money over the team. Everybody is underrating him by not accepting his "overrating"ness.. if that makes sense. I think everybody right now is saying "oh he'll suck on Buffalo", but everybody acts like he's not going to a team that doesn't already have talent. He'll be in the same role as he was before and I see him performing well.

Good luck Ville. Loved you, especially in last years playoffs.

Don't hate because he left. $20 says you were swinging from his caaaaaaaaaack the last 2 months of the season.

I'm kind of upset he left, but at $4.5 million a year? See ya.
