Those old NWA/WCW TBS shows, from about 1986 until Hogan showed up in 1994, were always money. As a kid, it seemed like they were about 4 hours long, and it seemed like no matter what time you turned on TBS during the weekend, wrestling would be on. I really miss this stuff.

This post is dedicated to Randy & Bill Mulkey, who with all due respect to Steve Lombardi, Tom Stone, Barry Horowitz, Pat Rose, Barry Hardy, Duane Gill, Reno Riggins, Brady Boone, The Italian Stallion, Frankie Williams, The Gambler, Pez Whately, and all of the other classic jobbers, are the greatest jobbers of all time.

The Mulkeys had everything you ever wanted in your classic 80's jobber (the golden age of jobbers)...milky white skin, awful physiques, sweet mullets, generic tights, negative charisma, ugly faces, and a complete lack of any semblance of a dangerous aura.

They also had some of the GOAT entrance music as well.

Those loooong Midnight jobber matches were great for different reasons, because it gave Cornette a chance to rant.

There is a shockingly low number of classic Mulkey one minute beatings on youtube. A shame, really. I love that Rude/Fernandez match.

Barry Horowitz vs. Mark Young

Horowitz is another lunch pail guy, and one of the most underrated wrestlers of all time. He was particularly awesome when he was given a chance to be in long, give and take prelim matches on house shows, like this NO FRILLS match against Mark Young.

Mark Young? Obscure as fuck. A lot of people think this is The Patriot, probably due to the tights. But Del Wilkes was in the AWA around this time as The Trooper, and hadnt even done The Patriot gimmick yet.

Mark Young is the son of Chief Jay Strongbow. He floated around the indies and had cups of coffee with WCW, WWF, and All Japan before he either broke his neck or back (I cant remember) and was forced to retire. Im surprised he didnt get a longer WWF run considering his dad was office during this period. Born 20 years too early. He'd be pushed to the moon as second gen today.
